This link has been posted before ...however from the recent posters we got to see on MaBs scancell have been working closely with Josep Carreras Leukaemia Research Institute, Barcelona Spain...... Here we see more depth to that relationship...

'The team has shown that mAbs binding to these sugars can cause cancer cell death. They propose to make a killing mAb against a novel tumour specific sugar, the Forssman sugar, with potent anti-cancer activity. This sugar is not normally present in humans but has been found in bowel cancer. It is difficult to purify or synthesize and does not stimulate strong antibody responses. The antibodies made to date are not Forssman specific.

In collaboration with Professor Yamamato (Barcelona), the team has engineered a tumour cell line to only express the Forssman sugar. They will use this cell line with their technology to generate a new human mAb. This mAb will then be evaluated in the laboratory for its ability to kill cancer but not normal cells.'

If we take the coming in of vulpes... really it was Lindy what nailed it... mr science guy doing due vigillance and the diggles talking to Lindy... I suppose can look at Chippers and his guy Holloway as go betweens and initiators ... ambassadors lol... do we need em all I dunno... CH in my mind has improved a lot in his presenting talents ... you listen to a scancell presentation and you think how the hell has no pharma made a move in on at least something! Its not as though there is a dearth of products and potentials ... going off AGM moditope alone now capable of targeting 33.. yes that is 33 cancer targets! That is huge then throw in ImmunoBody and now MaBs and avidimab... like I say a potential pharma pipeline in one tiny UK bio...

There is such a lot scientifically to take in at scancell and it grows every few months too ...but at the end of the day CH is paid rather a lot to know what is going on!... And if it is true they speak daily then I do not see why he is not constantly in the loop.... but as I say really it is Lindy's talent that is going to push us through and may well be she has to do that herself by wooing the likes of Mellman...

I sometimes think there is a disconnect between team scancell science the part we are all really invested in with great hopes and team scancell plc or Chippers and co... not sure they really ever know exactly what is going on in team science :) there are probably a few bits of evidence for this but one that bugged me since was CH did in a Q&A after an investor presentation did say the BiONtech collab came to a conclusion in June... clearly it did not and there had been a 6 months delay that we learnt of from Lindy and the reasons why at AGM ....I just hope Lindy got to Mellman last month and convinced him enough for him to convince Genetech to make a move in soon lol... it is what is needed our science team is a colossal and with the right financial backing could transform into a pharma contender in a relatively short time..... Going to be interesting with the continuing moditope knowledge and the looking into possible causes of failure... a very important very scientific process ,how and exactly when modi1 trial appears... will it not just be a combo trial due to needing to use patients on current approved treatments but will it also involve other combos that limit it chances of failure and indeed get it to that 100% survival in humanised mouse model potential....... Anyways think was to be expected now would be a quiet period , though news of the first patient dosed would be nice.... that 6 months BioNtech setback is being eaten away at and it all sounded hopeful to me there

It is going to be one heck of a dragging trial I very much doubt it will hit the timelines given at AGM.... using a version of the vaccine that if they could they would use a more up to date version and also using a delivery method in electroporation they would prefer to be nano delivery.... oh well despite that if/when patients get dosed the data ought to come out positive but even the minnow oncosec has data and a deal on combo electro delivered vaccines before scancell ....probably hoping other parts of the pipeline now eclipse this SCIB1 tragic saga .

I think you might be confusing techs and platforms, easily done here with there being so much scientifically going on... Without a doubt a great addition to the team......Be interesting to see Immunocore IPO and market value attached to them ...another company I consider much less attractive than scancell but managed to raise £££'s from inestors and pharma

Well done them in pulling off something that will see their techs ( fat less appealing than scancells ) paid for to progress through clinics and at a premium to sp.... nice for their shareholders.... still no such joy here though

If we only get one shot at a moditope trial and at the moment it looks like that.. as no partner yet and it due to begin (in theory lol) in months it has to be done in a way that gives it the best possible chances of success ... the understanding of moditope and its mechanisms of action and who should best respond and what could go wrong is now higher than ever... It might well mean the dreaded... delay ... which we have all come to know too well here appears for that trial too but if that delay is about getting it completely right it will be worth it... we want and need moditope to be given the best chance of success possible

C7 well in the AGM recording in answering a question about BioNtech TCR she did mention they are also interested in vaccines ( took it to mean moditope vaccines) as are 'others'.... so probably talks going on there... and possibly a meeting with Lindy and Mellman in Paris... who knows!.... also we still await final plans for that trial as seems to be changing and the whole 'combo' part in light of the published papers one of which was about 'some patients have antigen specific T-regs that may
need to be neutralized'

I think that money is more for clinical work and costs of trials etc... the money that part of was to be used around doing deals with their TCR platform was raised right before they did the scancell tie up in 2018 ... about $270 million I think.... to me as ever I think it is mostly about the collab bearing fruit as in having a product at the end of it ready to go forward into the clinic that is when the deal would be done... they have the money already... and from sounds of it Lindy and Paston and co are well on to it despite being 6 months behind due to the now resolved HSE issue ... Also, the whole Lilly angle is interesting with them having a deal with BioNtech where they have been paying them a not too small amount to come up with a clinical TCR product since 2015... this year being the only year they did not pay them anything... hmmm

She left immunocore not adaptimmune however both companies share roots and she was there from those beginnings.....I do not rate either companies commercial futures myself however they have had loads of money which scancell has not been able to raise....if only eh

haha... I don't think Boom mean't it like that... he was going off the fact that SCIB1 failed to get a deal and a factor in that could well be pharma wanted more data... I think there will have been multiple factors main one being vaccine trial failure effect and then the target melanoma having many approved products ..... still now the battle is one of finding best combos think we are back in a better place with SCIB1.....

Anyways we know with TCR a preclinical deal is a very real possibility and the whole Lilly aspect of BioNTechs search for clinical TCRs I think is interesting and can't do any harm especially if 6 months down the line scancell come up with a clinically viable TCR product... Lilly have given BiNTech what scancell could call a fortune to come up with well ... nothing least nothing worth them paying them this year when they did the last few years...
