A recent bout. Boomerbower in the blue dress.
Indeed, and if you ever come up with an argument that holds water for more than two posts it could be quite a ding dong. Your record is three so far, on climate change, but it went downhill from there. We live in hope.
Indeed. I refuse to generalise as there are some very competent and well meaning individuals. I happen to class AHO and in the main present Lloyds senior staff. AHO, albeit only a human as we know, and more than recompensed. But in a few cases I have witnessed, the primary noticeable characteristics and skillsets included greed, self interest, ingration and an ability to look good and evade responsibility against all common sense. 'Nuff said.
We do agree on this. Highest pay awards.. around the top two to three levels, are outrageous. Particularly CEO's. Below that executive schemes are still out of proportion. Extremely high basic packages are inflated out of proportion by unrealistic percentages and add ons especially at the top. Personal accountability proves to be negligible too as we see when top people simply claim they didn't know.things. It is their job to know and what they are ovrrpaid for. These are the people who should be penalised when corporations go bad. Not normal employees, shareholders and customers.
LEVIS
I thought you had me filtered? You said you did. Don't filters work in Indonesia?
No it's not trolling to point out it would be commercial and personnel management madness to scrap reward schemes and replace them with pure salaries.
Ah you meant future P/e ? At best only a weak indicator of future performance in banking. Doing what you suggested on bonuses and reward schemes on the other hand would crash the share .. investors don't like idiotic personnel management. Any banks you know who follow your advice ? Can you guess why?
"Lloyds BOD should not award any bonus structure, free shares in disguise or any other rewards other than salaries for employees"
"The city would revalue the share, awarding a higher PE.
In my opinion only"
A valid case could be made for review and possible change of the company reward scheme, and certainly some of the actions regarding the top executives look excessive, and shareholders should object if they believe so.
However opinions such as the above qiotes, formed on complete misunderstanding of how and why reward schemes work and indeed share dealing and pricing have no validity.
First.. the reason rewards are given in non salary form is so that companies can reward their staff in a relatively low cost way, and a way which is geared to performance. Speaking across the board rather than focusing on senior executives, it is essential staff are retained adequately paid. Bonuses received at lower levels are not exorbitant. It is cheaper overall to apply bonuses including sharesave schemes, and other rewards than salary, not least because they are not pensionable, unlike salary. The point could be made as I said that a review may be needed but it requires more than a five second glance and an ignorant outburst to make sense of it.
The second suggestion is even more of a gem. Who on earth believes that the city sets P/e values or that their "revaluing" the share will affect the price. Who on earth can deal in shares without knowing how such basic things work and what p/e even is ????
Regardless of the view on buybacks,, the windfall resulting from relaxation on capital buffers would be better and more fairly turned into a dividend windfall rather than simply starting off more buybacks.
Farage can't negotiate with the EU on Brexit they would laugh the fool out of the room.
1. He is not an elected MP let alone in government, his party can not command one seat in parliament let alone a majority.
2. He is corrupt. He has already had half his EU salary docked to recover misef EU funds ie tax payers money and a group associated with him has had a fine of half a million euros for similar misuse.
3. The plonker can't even arrange a successful protest march let alone lead a negotiation.
4. He has proven he is clueless about how even long established WTO rules work.
If you had known who the bard was, then you would have known why I spoke about Shakespeare and Shakespearean times. Either that or your post was nonsense.
As I said, no amount of making out you knew afterwards or blustering nonsense pretending it was something else you didn't understand will help you change that.
There is no bigotry involved in pointing out Elizabethan times were extremely hard for most people. Nor that there was no golden age we lost which Brexit will return. You exposed yourself as a bigot long ago.
No matter how you try Boomerbower your ignorance will be visible, until the day you start to find things out before you let your mouth run off. And no amount of making out you knew things after the event, or denial of facts will help you.
Someone was harking back to the time of "the mighty bard". He was referring to Shakespeare's time. How does a British person not know that exactly?
HS2 is not relevant to that, 40 year life expectancy is. You need to recognise that your blustering in ignorance and being obtuse ìs not clever.
Ah yes the great days of Shakesperean England. equalit health peace and, happiness everywhere. Tinged only by starvation, slavery, the plague and every disease imaginable, infant mortality, burning of witches, the rack, death for speaking out of turn, longevity 30 to 40 ic you made it after a lifetime of servitude to a dismal death. Try suggesting democracy then .
It's really worth finding out and bearing in mind some facts.occasionally. that includes how democracy actually works in this country and why. Imagination is overrated in these matters.
Strange world, American president boasting in tweets ("tweet" ffs) that the Chinese are paying big American tariffs.. does he really not know its Americans paying his tariffs, hammering some states?. Probably he does and he knows too its bringing cash in for the government. So he skins his people and gets credit from the easily duped. Populist bs is a great game. No wonder countries go to war so enthusiastically and pointlessly, the people you can't fool all the time are dwindling in numbers. Who'd have thought that.
