Here’s hoping HFB!!
The funny thing with BOIL, from a PI’s perspective, is that it’s got a long history behind where our PSC has come from, it’s origins and how it ended up majority in our hands, over time. And a complex political backdrop regarding the obstacles that we / the industry / the majors face into regards routes to monetisation in that part of the world. I only recently took a position here (have built up to approx 8 million shares so far, but plan to increase) but admit it took a lot of reading and thinking in advance, as difficult to navigate through it all and decide whether a really good opportunity actually exists (and our SP and MC reflects the high level of risk associated, obviously). But in the end, whilst I was ‘sitting on the fence’ one day, it was actually a simple, throwaway remark made by someone on here that gave me the nudge: “it has to come out the ground someday”
And while none of us here can predict exactly how or when or who will get it out the ground, what we can say is that we sit on 75% of a very impressive asset and are continuing to strengthen the technical evidence that surrounds it. Will we get a meaningful offer (JV, full buy-out etc) before we run out of road? I hope so, but that’s the beauty of buying into a story at this stage, the rewards could be phenomenal if the BoD can pull off a deal. What would help is more shareholder engagement - as they’ve promised, via their new PR team - which we’re all waiting patiently to see. But I’ll give them benefit of doubt at the moment (they might be knee deep in talks, hopefully!!).
Just my rambling thoughts on a Sunday, from a relatively new investor to BOIL. High risk share but, to me, a strong buy at this MC level. Enjoy your Sunday everyone, let’s see what next week brings.
Thanks HFB, appreciate all the info you share. This is beginning to bubble, getting quite exciting. Long way to go obvs and still high risk atm, so don’t want to get too carried away. But hard not to imagine where the SP could end up if all goes to plan!
I’ll provisionally book the Savoy for everyone for the after party ;)
Looking for a quick bit of help please, does anyone know what the new, enlarged GCAT share balance is post the listing/fund raising? I keep trying to look up the RNS’s to find it but my system keeps freezing/glitching on me - TIA
@UnityTwo, many thanks for your offer. Like you, I’m interested in GCAT and doing my own research. I don’t have any further Qs to add, but very interested in the outcomes of those you are planning to ask, so would be very grateful to hear how your fact find trip goes, in due course.
Thanks in advance for your efforts.
@passiton, thanks for all the updates and context. Sept/Oct a couple of big months for us! It’ll get a bit heart-stoppy in these coming weeks when your phone buzzes at 7am (ish) to signal an RNS alert lol.
Just out of curiosity, I’ve noticed during the day to day ‘noise’ of the share price movements that when it does a small step up into the green/blue, it often does so in an interval of exactly 3.57%. Does the 3.57% step have any particular significance that anyone knows of or is just the ‘noise’ range the MM uses when bobbing the price above and below the par line for that day? TIA
Agree with all comments, excellent and informative report from Allenby. One thing I’m still trying to get my head around (a little bit) is the precise blockers that we hope the TL gov will remove. If anyone’s got the time, could they briefly outline those blockers; I have a rough idea but don’t want to embarrass myself in trying fumble out my interpretation of the issue (I’ve read multiple posts from HFB, which have helped, but not sure I’m completely on top of it yet) - many thanks in advance.
Have been following the BOIL story for a while now, stewing over when to take a stake and at what size. Recently taken plunge and accumulated decent number of shares, at a 0.74 average (a steal given the potential here). Roll on the RNS’s :)
HH - agreed - and I like that BBG added that, while it’s not wise to put a date estimate to these things, he did confirm it is his “priority”. I take more comfort from that perhaps than I do a date estimate (which I’ll then inevitably hang onto and become disappointed if/when it isn’t met).
Really liked that interview - a sense of excitement beginning to emerge from Bill! With some progress now in flight on both IO and silver projects (and both in Oz), it feels like we’re in good shape, albeit long road in front of us. Laughed when he mentioned he’d love to be atop the rig for the whole 2-3 weeks watching the cores comes out fresh!
@HH, just to say, excellent post. I have reasonable investing experience, but UFO is/was my first foray into the world of junior explorers. I researched UFO thoroughly before investing in Dec 2020 (and have topped up and learned extensively about exploration along the way). But, ‘acclimatising’ to the drops and down-time associated with juniors has taken some discipline. Posts like yours, that encourage a cautious, realistic but still positive outlook have helped ‘educate’ this (now previous) newbie and helped me avoid having a ‘wobble’ when the fundamentals hadn’t changed :)
Evening all, been following BOIL on and off for a while now and trying to get my head around the story and obstacles. Their April corporate presentation outlines the milestones they hope to hit Q1- Q4 2022, leading to potential appraisal/exploration wells in 2023. But can someone clarify whether there are state permissions / requirements outstanding or other TL regulatory hurdles / risks that BOIL has yet to overcome? Just trying to see the full picture - thanks in advance.
@yayay, well said, echo my feelings exactly. Last two weeks on this board in particular have been torturous. Really don’t get it. It’s a shame, sometimes the board has had good exchanges of info and ideas, but instead 99% of exchanges recently have been 100% pointless.
