Just be patient.
OXB is partnered with the Jenner Institute and others to create and manufacture what is potentially the most promising candidate vacine to immunise people against Covid. The government even says that it is prepared to fund manufacture before the vacine gets approval so that probably assures OXB of significant income in any event.
Whilst death of PoW would be sad - particularly for his family - it would not make much difference to this country. Anyway, the DoC is probably a better bet for the monarchy if the institution is to have a viable future.
Hawkey - If there is any impact on a share price as a result of it going ex-div, it is normally on or immediately after the Record Date (in BDEV's case, back in April) as opposed to at the time of the Payment Date (in BDEV's case, later this month). However, there is no hard and fast rule. This year the BDEV SP did not drop back when BDEV went ex-div at the Record Date. In fact the market has taken the SP progressively upwards to where it is today. I am afraid you just need to make your own judgement as to where the market will take it from here. The trading statement today was certainly confident and by any reckoning BDEV is a good income play with a yield of around 8% if you include the special dividend to be paid later this year.
The £20k purchase by the CFO is a pretty good show of confidence ! I have been in OXB for more than 5 years and have seen all the dips and peaks so far. What I think has really changed the OXB prospects for the better is the addition of the manufacturing capacity as well as the $50 million loan facility.
