So SW, how would they move the ore from Parys Mtn if not by rail - by road ? by air ? !
The roads to Bull Bay/Llanerchymedd/Benllech would need dramatic improvement in that event.
PS. the rail line passes very conveniently around the west side of Parys Mtn. Unlike with LIM, AYM would not have to depend on a rail link for 100s of miles to port and would not have to pacify the locals !
Thanks for the update on this Mike. A rail link to the Port of Holyhead via Gaerwen would certainly be a massive bonus for AYM.
On a personal note the reopening of the line would trigger a big nostalgia rush for me with memories of getting on the train at Amlwch to go to school in the 1960/70s !
Wonder if FSJ will be involved with this recovery.
Great piece from Sir John Bell (of Oxford University) on the Today programme this morning. OXB is the most secure supplier of the AZN vaccine for the UK. 2 million doses per week.
Good item on the BBC today.
has nothing on this !
J Becket.
The 10 day quarantine period is now over and so we should soon be hearing the good news that the manufacturing plant has been commissioned and we have begun to make masks.
2 blocks at just under £1.2 million earlier this afternoon.
Something up ?
Tommymech: Bounce.
I believe that it's just a form of exclamation in tbe vein of 'good grief' that is commonly heard in North West Wales. Often just 'esgob!' Is used.

Exactly right !
SW:
Again a very well thought through piece.
The parallel with Sirius and the reluctance of government to commit significant support to mining projects like this occurred to me too. WG or UKGov might be persuaded to support limited or discreet aspects of the project but not to underwrite delivery of the whole.
I think that Parys will eventually happen as a result of a major operator taking a significant ownership of either Parys alone (likely) or AYM in general (possible but less likely than the former).
As to what happens to the product once mined, history will repeat itself. 200/250 years ago the copper was sent from Anglesey to Swansea to be turned into sheaths of copper for Nelson's navy. So, as SW indicates, the copper etc will have to be moved elsewhere to be processed now.
Let's hope that we have a similar copper bottomed investment now !

Pumpky: Is that the same as £20 an eigth xx

Not sure. I get confused between metric and imperial. Half quarter sounds more substantial :)
