"Ethiopia would resist losing control of a strategic gold asset", Why would they lose control? they'd have their stake in Tulu Kapi, still generate tax revenues. They'd welcome a major with billions of cash available.
"Lenders would likely block change‑of‑control", why would they? a Major reduces the risk of repayment to themselves. Majors have deep enough pockets to repay the debt instantaneously if necessary
"Saudi partners would block access to the Arabian assets", again, why would they? It's only a 13% investment. Plus Kefi have their own sole license.
Kefi Group structure has been set up to allow flexibility as well as independance between subsidiary companies. Whether it is Kefi Group at the top or a Major is pretty irrelevant
