I hear there is a meeting in Tanzania today with the TPSF (Tanzania Private Sector Foundation) hosted by the minister that completed the contract and PSA review to discuss the PSA terms and the amended law on international arbitration.

Many are calling the bottom based on a 4 year gas cycle price based on investment in supply V demand. No idea if this deal will complete or not. Current European import price is back to the July 19 price.

Sometimes I would say Tanzania. The predictions are that Tanzania will see major changes in both the main and small rain seasons with more extremes, flooding some years, as now and drought others and that = unpredictable power supply, not something you can build a nation on.

Several operators out there Tanzania and the licence awards post PSA will speak volumes. Gas exports and the Uganda/Kenya/Tanzania export pipeline is where the big volumes lay @ 1BCTF per day according to the TPDC.

Wen have a production/development licence and they have applied for an extension, but like aex etc also need the PSA terms to be completed before their extension licence is awarded and they work on developing more supply. No PSA/No licence no additional gas.

Last time I looked they are producing around 75 MMscfd and have a capacity of 130 MMscfd post workovers and compression. The heaviest rains ever recorded have resulted this year in high electricity generation from Hydro and reducing the demand for gas to power.

So in summary Wen along with all the other operators are all waiting on the PSA before spending any money on development.

Southerhay, We are all waiting on revised negotiations for the current One Dyas deal to conclude. It is classed as an RTO due to it's size and value and hence the suspension.

It may or may not complete.

Just thought it was interesting and shows how people invest for different reasons AA :) Can't disagree with the waiting though, the NT-3 drill now C1 was expected back to back on NT2 back in June 2017.

Hi AA, ironically I invested for Ruvuma and anything else the bod deliver such as a producing asset is the bonus for me :)

They have been very clear at least steve, the deal may or may not happen. The wait is way longer than any of us expected and very frustrating and the same for the Tanzanian assets although for political reasons.

I completely disagree with you on Ruvuma, as it is likely to be a very major part of the Boards 20000 boepd target. The current published numbers = 24,878,082 boepd gross or over 6,000 boepd to solo. I believe this can be exceeded considerably if the gov complete the Uganda and Kenya gas export pipeline as planned ad the 1Billion cubic feet per day demand and account for half or more of that target.

All depends on that licence to green light the project.

All seems to be moving in the right direction and certainly I feel positive by the significant news in the last couple of weeks. Gov U turn on international arbitration and the 13 PSA's reviewed and submitted to the president.

Seems clear enough to me, get the PSA's complete (for AEX/SOLO etc) if you want the majors to spend the $30 billion on the LNG investment. It is the same information & conclusion published back in November by Prof. Odd-Helge Fjeldstad which is when the pressure on the gov started properly.

13 reviewed PSA's submitted to the president last week and the gov have backed down on international arbitration, so looks like the ball is rolling in a positive direction to me.

Worth a read/scan of the relevant pieces from November 2019. One of the main sticking points WAS the international arbitration and the 2013 MPSA gets a good kicking.
