RE: Takeover approach coming ?4 Dec 2025 08:17
Chris, the famed 1000oz a month statement by Priestley was a year ago, and was made purely for their own company agenda. As someone else suggested, maybe to pump the price to allow that other bunch who were owed money to get out. There was clearly absolutely no prospect of hitting that figure with the resources they had, and have. It was a blatant lie, so would not have formed any part of the strategy or reasoning as to whether to accept an offer or not.
That’s not to say there’s not decent amounts of gold there, or they wouldn’t all be fighting over some muddy fields, some tents, and a few rusty JCB’s. The big question is whether, when they do start to produce decent volumes (if they’re not already and it’s not being side-doored as per BT’s accusation) the shareholders will see any benefit, or whether they’re working on a deal to nick it all for themselves. There are no scruples involved here, if we benefit it will be purely a byproduct of a deal that benefits them.
