Lanti Dry Mining plant achieves nameplate capacity London, UK, 5 June 2013: Sierra Rutile Limited (AIM: SRX) ("Sierra Rutile") is pleased to report that the dry mining concentrator at Lanti ("Lanti Dry Mining") has achieved its nameplate capacity. The concentrator recently underwent performance testing over a 168-hour period, during which it operated at an average feed rate of 522 tph, exceeding the design specifications of 500 tph. A certificate of completion has been issued to the contractor, Consulmet (Pty) Limited. The mining operation and the concentrator plant are both currently operating in excess of their designed rate of 3.5 million tonnes per annum and have experienced minimal impacts during recent wet weather conditions. The project is forecast to contribute 30,000 - 35,000 tonnes of rutile out of Sierra Rutile's 2013 expected total rutile production of 125,000 tonnes. The Lanti Dry Mining project, built within budget and ahead of the original timeline, was successfully designed and constructed within a 12-month period. The project consists of a truck and an excavator mining operation feeding a 500 tph primary concentrator plant. The resulting heavy mineral concentrate product is trucked to Sierra Rutile's central mineral separation plant, where it is processed into finished product rutile, ilmenite and zircon concentrate. Commenting on the achievement of nameplate capacity, CEO John Sisay said: "The ramp-up of the Lanti Dry Mining project to its full capacity within four months of its start-up is a significant achievement for our team and contractors, and I would like to congratulate all involved. The successful implementation and ramp-up of this project gives me great confidence in our ability to successfully deliver our next expansion project, the Gangama Dry Mining Project, when market conditions justify its construction".

north america- dupont? (an old legacy customer) wondering when we see next years figures, if this increases to the mentioned legacy in recent rns. then one could assume it is dupont? (or not). note there was one aspect of accounts that confirms not in conjunction with aim. no concern to me. thought the aspects of principal risks section excellently thought through. see the segment for south america although decreased slightly surely has potential going forward with that sector? south america-brazil etc are still growing gdp etc. are there other suppliers in south america? any rutile mines/dredging ops anywhere in south america? corbs musing?:-)

Indeed- and what is the other company in west/south africa already in the green gold field of agri bus as well as being a miner? have you seen the size of their turnover just from the agricultural working model? its enormous :-)))

"Mineral resource expansion In March 2012, the Board approved a budget of $4.0 million for additional mineral resource exploration. Currently less than 20% of SRL's license area has been systematically explored, meaning SRL believes there exists high potential for resource expansion. The money will be spent on drilling rigs, staffing and laboratory equipment and will enable the company to explore at 2.5 times its current rate. The first results of the expanded exploration program are expected to be available during the fourth quarter.

potentials? kerching $$$$? srx has 55,000 hectares of land (165,000 acres) under concessions- 20% of which has been drilled and is part of the jorcd asset- worlds largest natural rutile resource- sierra leone itself as per my previous posts relative to 2009 has an untapped agriculture market of $700 million dollah -$1 billion dollah per annum. Samples from 14 locations in the HTT stream were analysed by SGS. Locations were chosen based on processing methods, the conductivity and radioactivity of processed material, and the chemical properties of REOs. The distribution of REOs compare well to the deposits of non-Chinese rare earths companies (the "Comparator Group", as defined below) (refer to Figure 1). None of the Comparator Group companies are in commercial production at this stage. Using the samples tested by SGS and applying current REO prices, the potential value of the total contained REOs in the sampled HTT stream is US$104.2/kg of REO. This value excludes yttrium, lutetium and scandium, for which testing remains ongoing. The US$104.2/kg of REO compares favourably to the Comparator Group, for which the contained value of REOs is US$111.5/kg of REO (refer to figure 2). The REO grade of the HTT samples, as tested independently, is 2.2%, implying a REO value of approximately US$2,258 per tonne of HTT.
