It's an interesting thought if QBT really is ahead of the competiton on technology
I don't read the posts every day, just watc the share price, so apologies if this has been covered.
Warren Buffett’s Berkshire Hathaway dumps Visa and Mastercard stock and buys $1bn in Bitcoin fintech Nubank.
Berkshire Hathaway, Warren Buffett’s investment vehicle, has reportedly ditched more than $3bn in stock in payment processor giants Visa and Mastercard.
According to a securities filing in the U.S., dated 14 February, the investment giant has sold $1.8bn in Visa shares and $1.3bn in Mastercard stock.
At the same time, the company increased its participation in Nubank, the largest fintech bank in Brazil that is highly active among the country’s Bitcoin investors. The activity signals a shift away from traditional credit companies and an increased focus on their fintech rivals.
FigTree I hope you are right about Intel being a catalyst to promote all similar products but is there a risk they'll do hat Microsoft used to do and bury, buy or bankrupt all competition? Buy might be a quick result for us though?
I know from my own Tax Returns and advice from my accountant. Each trade is treated separately, each is an individual enterprise and tax is paid on every profit. I don't believe you can offset lossses on other trades against profits made on the earlier trades.
TW said the future depends on how good the upcoming products are.
The huge benefit from Covid is the large cash injection. Cash will be king for the next months or year? TW was quite clear in saying the company probably has a brilliant long term future but that does not fit in with the short term strategy at SP. His original buy at around 2p gave huge short term profits IF you sold at 6p but but his buy at 4p was problematic. I don't think he is dishonest, simply has a short term strategy which requires constant shifts in direction. So for SP it's not a buy but for us with a longer view, it is.
If they cannot improve their communication to shareholders then why should shareholders bother giving them money?
They already have the money, when we buy or sell we are simply exchanging ownership of shares but it makes no difference to MHC' finances. The BoD get their salaries and if they hold shres may want to see the share prcie rise but may be only in the long term. It would only matter sooner if they wanted to issue new shares to raise funds but they don't neet to do they? The company has loads of cash.
I personally think this is quite under the radar for whats going on.
Totally agree, other companies that have rocketed as this did to 6p on good news usually attract a mass of attention from spec traders spotting a volatile stock, encouraging newbies to buy. Hundreds of posts a day is a red flag. We have neither here, the relatively small number of regular posters have all been here for some time and pretyy well all sound like genuine investors.
On level 2 it's changing with no trades. Earlier it went to ask 4.20 and only later two tiny treades followed. Now ask has dropped to 3.8 but no trades. Is it possible for buying and selling going on we don't see?
Does anyone know if PCR tests will be mandatory on returnafter regs are relaxed? I have a neighbour who is going to France this week and has to take a PCR test before arriving there... which after research... he is doing at Boots just before boarding Eurostar!
The reality is it should never have been at its peak of 6p. TW and Dan L were both so enthusiastic it caused a spike that has proved unsustainable. If you are convinced this company has a remarkable opportunity with testing which will lead to product launches with a solid sustainable future, then ignore the recent "collapse" in the share price and think of this as the right time to buy.
News at lunch time speculates holidays may be allowed in amber countries with jabs but no quarantine - or tests. Has that caused the selling, bearing in mind those who took the placing are still in profit and may have targeted short term gains? If so, should have sold sooner!
Anyone who is a subscribes to his tip sheet will vouch for my posts accuracy.
He has always given a categorical assurance he notifes subscribers before selling. I believe him. Having seen him inteviewd he comes across as genuine. Confident and strongly opiniated which irritates some but straight forward.
Thanks bakky, I felt it needed saying (about TW's comments). I can understand people who have doubts about investing, or holding, asking other's views but why post in a purely negative way that suggests the share is not worth holding? I know some will say it is to get the price down to buy in but realistically one post won't do thatl It just seems such a waste of effort, especially as I suspect such comments are from people who don't hold shares. What is the point?
I have the full TW report and it is extremely positive, it takes a perverse reading of it to suggest it is anything else , or that "Hold" is somehow negative, he is advising those who bought on his original recommendation at c2.2p not to take profits but to hold.
bakky, I agree with your strongest theme, Boots was a coup. For now holiday travel is limited, who know what the future is for holidays and PCR tests? As you ssy though, it is not just about PCR tests, now they are accepted as a supplier to Boots hopefully it will open the door for the futiue.
Despite the number of the trades the actual sums of money are relatively small. It doesn't take much to move the price substantially which we say when Levi and TW recommended it. So any really positive news should have an impact.
