RE: Pogo has finally seen the light7 Oct 2025 09:44
Just so that we understand the absolute losing investment strategy theory of Pogo and why you should avoid it at all costs.
He says that for 29K he bought 36.5K shares i.e. 0.7945 p/shr. for the divi, hoping to sell at a profit at end of November after pocketing a divi.
I won't even enter in an argument as to why he is still insisting on buying a share that at best is in a sideways movement but for me in a continuous downtrend and looking to take advantage of small bounces but for the sake of a laugh and ridicule of this investment god (not) let's continue.
Between the dates he started accumulating, I presume to be beginning of September to 18th September (a previous post of his eludes to that) he could have done a very simple thing any imbecile can do as long as they are not deeply in the red in a single share and keep trying to average down by revenge trading. Check the FTSE and see that it is in a clear uptrend. Something ITV is not. That would have been his first checkpoint.
Having done so he could have made a very basic decision that most muppet investors fearing for their safety would have done. Buy an Index Tracker. A very basic one would have been a dog of a tracker called IUKD. The VWAP on that between 02/09-18/09 is approx 8.475. 29K invested in that at this average, today would have given him a minimum of 350 pounds profit. But he could have bought in that time period a lot lower.
As things stand now the loser is expecting a dividend of 620 pounds , is facing a loss of -1333 pounds thus a net loss and is hoping for a bounce of at least a 5.6% just to make his capital back. We all know what happens during divi date so he may have even more of a bounce to make his money back.
Picking up the index tracker I mentioned is the dumbest investment one could make but I use it to illustrate that you have to be a special kind of imbecile to keep on chasing falling knives and dividend traps.
Pogo is deeply in the red and he just claims to be buying in order to make some of it back. It is called revenge trading as he thinks the share owns him his investment thesis. This is how you lose the lot. So please do not follow him unless you want to be poor and maybe worse
