the uk has 2.85m millionaires who cares in 10,000 leave, tbh moving to live overseas in retirement is a common practice and many more people in the uk are millionaires these days due to house price inflation over decades, with the majority pensioners.

Only liquid shares have things like resistance levels etc ...

Charting is an utter waste of time on a share like this, where I could just by selling or buying 10m shares and drop or rise the share price. by 1/2 a point or more.

I dont think you have anything to be concerned about, house price inflation has made millions of pensioner millionaires in the UK. 1 in 4 the ONS over 65 years old that 3m people.

The UK has been in a debt fuelled asset boom for decades, even Lloyds bank is buiding rental properties. Meaning work does not pay for the majority anymore unlike owning assets making the rich richer and the poor poorer.

An interesting read for the more technically minded folk here, about a year out of date, but explains the debt position of IAG nicely and the under valued of plane assets under ROU accounting. A P/L without a balance sheet is petty worthless.

You mean Net debt and it is more likely around 5b which is pre COVID level, it looks to me the Market does like the Euro Air deal, the election, cost of living, the wars, debt levels and lack of dividend guidance. Very much under valued, stock at the moment, due a big rerate in the next 6-12mths I think.

It says divest not sell, which is ambiguous and you can just divest finance leases, people and infrastructure at least there is normally costs a lot to do that, unless sold as whole going concern where there is a premium.

So I think they be left with assets to sell off, and finance agreements they are tied in they all have be sold at less then then they paid for, as well as massive redundancy costs for staff. I obviously dont have the details, so it is broad brush view from my own considerable commercial experience.

@Retirement, I have done very self manging so far, by taking big risks some work some have not, but I am want to de-risk and mostly be able to forget about it. once I retire.

I am aiming for about a 5.5% average "wage" from portfolio of shares/drawdowns/cash etc until I hit 67 then it drops as my state pension kicks in in 8 years time. In the end I will be mostly using high income Investment Trusts. MUT for instance has paid a bigger dividend every year for 50 years, has a over £1b in assets, 10% discount rate, and currently a 4.8% dividend rate. Spread you investments over say 5 of these, with different focuses, geographically and industrially and you will have 100s of companies in your portfolio. So it is seems pretty safe to me, and much better than an annuity.

Impressed you taking 6.5% a year retirement that is pretty brave, depending on age of course.

This is dying on the branch while we wait once again for Indian bureaucracy to get their finger out. There make a last minute unhelpful suggestion to the work plan next, like open up the old wells so you have no idea how a new well really flows....
