RE: Petrofac becoming a gasification player?22 Feb 2023 10:03
"Here was that news from July 2022..."
Problem being this announcement came just 5 days after DP had to get the begging bowl out and raise more cash, and since then the share price has nosedived over 60%.
The issue with EQT is one of credibility of the senior management to ...
a) Understand time scales and deliver to those time scales (Not one of EQT's projects has been delivered on or even near the original timeframe)
b) Communicate appropriately to shareholders (we still are waiting for the MDC start of commercial operations RNS when we were told at the beginning of december "EQTEC still expecting Italy MDC to be up and running by 2023", whether this was poor communications or a timescale slippage is undecided, should they have stated "running by 2023 with commercial operations to follow" or was there indeed technical issues which affected the self imposed timeline, When shareholders have been told the MDC will be a commercial operation and are subsequently told its would be running by 2023, its reasonable for them to expect that "running" meant "commercial operation", either way it affects the credibility/reliability of news being released.
c) Manage the finances, we still don't have a clue what the state of the cash flow is, are we taking up any of the Riverport additional financing (unlikely as the screwed up the terms which means they cant pay with shares but it's obviously still on the table), How much of the line of credit is in fact needed to keep the lights on whilst they struggle to get any of the pipeline actually over the line. It's laughable that the latest trading update started with "2022 revenues expected to meet guidance" when they were forced to slash that guidance less than three month before, surely the should have stated "expected to meet revised guidance"
Its little things that the credibility of companies such as EQT turn on, and at the moment they seem to be missing every opportunity to overturn that credibility issue and instil shareholder confidence.
As with everything EQT it's like the proverbial "****ty stick", and at the moment the shareholders are unsure what end they have hold of!
