EESL have been running literally millions of Lighting installs all over India. I cannot work out if they are just Energy friendly bulb replacements or there is something Smart behind it. That CC market, as JC will confirm was a firm target, has passed. The Metering market is just starting..............

Posted today was the news that they are starting in Firozabad. This from May last year, same project.

Under smart metering, EESL would install 4 million smart meters apart from 10 million pre-paid meters at the consumer end. “This is the biggest smart metering project anywhere in the world given the sheer size of the project. We would invest about Rs 26 billion towards this project and later recoup our investment in the next eight years,” EESL managing director Saurabh Kumar told Business Standard.

Tedders. The multi billion boys are in the same boat as the CC minnows, relying on a joke nation to implement what they promised to 6 years ago. They are no closer now, unless you count the newly named meeting groups getting some excited. I thought the contracts 'due' numbered 3, and they were around £5 million each. As of November 1st, CC confirmed that they had not lost an expected contract. If they don't get a move on, Indore will be more a museum than showcase.

India are in typical Modi mode, 250 million meters in 3 years or less, and they still haven't started ( REMEMBER THE ELECTION WAS MAY 19 ). Newbies, none of this is IMO, it's all fact. Calm down tonyj, CC haven't actually won anything yet. When this starts, if it ever does, there will be competition all over the place. EDF are not there to pick the Tea.

All of that aside, CC are most likely potless and will need funds very soon imo. I think there may be many on the sides here, going buy the last rush of confusion, that are waiting for that situation to be confirmed. Upfront payments won't last, or keep coming I doubt. I am expecting another round of same old, after that the order flow needs to start and not stop at 2 per year. I still have doubts India are that serious, but if they are there is no lid on where this could end up.

It's always a number I have struggled with. Modi threw 4 million USD at it in 2014, no idea if it got spent, or what on if it did, but the $32 billion figure has been out there for a long time. Look, if CC are that well placed, and India are finally taking it seriously, 900% increase in SP is achievable ( woolie ) . For the Gestapo on here, this is not a Rec, and I have not changed my investing position, but it is an absolute no brainer. Trouble is, and not being rude to them, but does the target market have the sense or the ability to overcome the obvious corruption to get it over the jump. The big winners will not be CC or the likes, it will be one massive nation with so much to play for.
