Anyways. Goa has just 62% living in Urban areas, with a population of around 1.8 million. Nothing too interesting there, other than it could be hundreds of thousands living off grid with Solar ( the light bulb I mentioned years ago ).
The other detail that will come into play, as far as India Smart is concerned, is Goa is not a poor state . It would make more sense if it was, but Goa is in fact the richest state in India. As for CC being involved, why would you pay for SMART anything if it is just a light bulb in a room. They are further behind than I imagined, and Modi's 250 million joke gets louder.

Now, correct me if I am wrong, but it has been reported here that all households have been connected to the Indian grid and next stage was to ensure monies collected through the Smart tech rollout. I had information a few years ago that remote locations, and there are thousands of them, will not get connected. This was at the time, and ever since, been ridiculed as incorrect tosh.

Convergence Energy Services Limited (CESL), a wholly owned subsidiary of Energy Efficiency Services Limited (EESL), has signed an agreement with Goa Energy Development Agency (GEDA) for the installation of solar PV-based home lighting systems for remote households in the state, which do not have access to proper power supply till date.

Under the Agreement, CESL will install and maintain solar PV systems for five years under the Remote Village Electrification (RVE) programme of the Government of Goa. Existing contracts will have been awarded and assume installs started. New contracts are 'as was' with CC forming part of the bid, if the tech is required, through the Meter manf. What the author 'needs' to confirm is are both existing and new contracts now calling for millions of Comms to be upgraded to a CC type solution. If that isn't the case the statement above is floored, at least in the way people here interpret it. If it is the case, then gloves are off. I somehow doubt the author has any idea what I am talking about.

I hear India have lost control of the rollout and have asked CC to take over the Energy Gov. department and been given access to all allotted World Bank funding in Asia. 15 Million units are being produced an hour, and installs are through the roof. India Smart programme will be complete by next Wednesday, around tea time. DYOR .
