Eruma plc has won a significant contract – through its subsidiary Security Blinds Ltd – to install its Secur security blinds at a major international organisation in the Middle East.
The contract is worth US$192,898 and will provide enhanced bomb-blast protection for a secure and prestigious facility in Beirut, Lebanon.
A statement from Eruma said: “The Secur product is an ideal solution for counter terrorism due to the high level of protection it provides buildings to mitigate the effects of a bomb blast.
“In addition to protecting the windows themselves, the occupants and contents, Secur is also effective against intruders.”
Superbly named Eruma chief executive Wayne Money said: “Following on from our recent £380,000 contract win with Bristol Airport for energy efficient lighting systems, this deal demonstrates the renewed success of Eruma’s sales strategy.
“In two deals we have secured over half a million pounds of revenue and we are delighted that our two trading entities, Security Blinds and Illuminex, are in a position to commandeer these major contract wins.
“Indeed, we have installed Secur in a variety of establishments, including premises occupied by the UK police force, where protection of life and critical infrastructure are paramount to maintaining national and regional security.”
Secur has been tested by the Ministry of Defence and the following videos show footage of the blinds resisting a 100kg and 500kg bomb under test conditions - roughly equivalent to a car bomb and a lorry bomb respectively.
