WHAT'S IT WORTH?10 Feb 2025 14:33
I have decided to join this board to try to introduce some rational thought to what is an increasingly polarised discussion about how much the Company’s shares are really worth in the medium term.
I have read the board for about 4 years, and used to enjoy reading what information others had gleaned from various sources, but that seems to have almost ceased.
The biggest issue currently seems to be what value to place on the Company. There is an assumption that at some stage, if the science stands up to peer review, the Company will be taken over. Why? Is my question.
Some of the values bandied about have been from ÂŁ5-200 per share, well in excess of the current market price. At ÂŁ20 per share I would become a millionaire and I suspect others here would also. Do you seriously think the Large Pharmaceutical companies ( LPs) are going to give that kind of largesse to shareholders?
If the trial results prove successful, surely Avacta will grant licences to the LPs to manufacture and distribute the drugs. Avacta then gains significant revenues to enable it to continue its research (which I believe is what the current BOD wants). Of course, the value of the Company will increase, and the market value as well, but not to anything like the figures suggested. Yes, if this happens, there will be dividends, and Avacta continues as a research organisation, but the large funds don’t come to us.
