RE: Turkish Minister says, Putin wants SIX things....part 218 Mar 2022 00:10
Jermey, When I say he wants out, I don't mean under any terms. I mean hrs a very very clever man and doesn't want an Iraq/afganistan quagmire on his hands. Wants to achieve as many of his objectives as quick.as possibleie no nato on his boarders, give other potential nato countries a warning, Donbas accepted as independent or a eveb federal system which will be pro Russian. I also think it's intentional he hasn't entered the big cities. His forces will loose 10ks of troops quickly. Easier sitting somewhere in fortified defensive positions than offensive.
If you were him, putting aside all economic and political penalties and looking at this from a pure military perspective. Will the battlefield be more favourable or less in one 4-8 weeks time? I would say considerably worse for Russia, more and more advanced Western arms, not even close to enough troops to takeover/subdue the country, supposedly lost 12k troops already and 4 generals, low morale of trops and the Ukrainians have nearly all the male population staying in country to fight (20 millions).
Most importantly who is more determined and cause to win? Undoubtedly the Ukrainians fighting for their country against the "aggressor" and not the low morale conscript who doesn't want be there and didn't even know he's going to ukraine.
After 20 years in Afghanistan (can even use Vietnam or Russian invasion of Afghanista), why couldnt they win when they had far superior tech, training and overall resources? Due to the fact the taliban had a cause, and would of fought on forever.
