Alex, your basing it being a disaster on decline of Russian arms sales. Yes Russian arms aren't as good as western arms, but they aren't that bad. For example, it's a big task to design and manufacture fighter jets. Those old f16s the west is sending will be shot down rather quickly and will be just used well within they're airspace at best. They've West has sent so many "game changers" - HIMARS, ACATMS, Excalibur, Abrhams tanks and all have failed after a short while. The Russians are experts at adapting.
I personally wouldn't want to be in one of those tanks of theirs....
Its more down to their horrendous training and commanders. They will still continue to sell to China, India, Belarus and tin pot African states. I will go further and say it will bounce right back within a few years. They've learned a lot the last few years and I reckon they'll go on a export binge re electronic warfare capabilities and drones.
I would actually say the Russian military is more of a formidable force now than 2 3 years ago. The poor performing and corrupt military commanders from junior officers to generals have been purged. You have a few hundred thousand battle hardened troops and they have refined themselves along the way.
If you look at russian history, they have always stared poorly in conflicts and adapt quickly to do well. I've always been impressed with the intelligence of Russian peoples and Ukrainians to be honest. This conflict needs to stop one way or another. Interestingly, vast majority of Russians believe they're in the right. It was a war forced on them by U.S/NATO. It seems over the past year, nearly 50% ukrainians want a peace now. This number will only grow, especially with coming winter when Russia has started smashing power infrastructure for winter.

Boris the corrupt clown went to Ankara/Istanbul every early during the conflict or just before and told the Ukrainians who were imminently about to agree peace terms with the Russians - if you make peace you won't get any help from us or money going forward but if you fight, the Americans have agreed to give you all the weapons you need. That scumbag will have a special place in hell for being one of the chief architects of pushing for war and being directly responsible for the countries destruction, 10s of million's fleeing and hundred of thousands of deaths. He has the audacity to put forward a peace plan to trump.
