The talks are by video call tomorrow, which makes me think there won't be an agreement as the Russians would want a photoshoot if there is going to be peace...hopefully soon.

On a seperate note EU advised more sanctions coming this week and sectoral sanctions in the near term....will mining or precious metal sanctions be included?

Could be a good retaliation by Russia if they let happen and then blame the West due to Sanctions. What makes it betters its mostly corporate debt and relatively little Russian Gov debt

Agreed, no mid to large institutions will buy in. You do realise they have stakeholders to answer to and image is everything to big institutions.

UN peacekeepers are authorized by the security council which Russia is a permanent member and have right of veto .

Does anyone feel there is a risk that the assets (plants etc) can be obliterated by a Russian military strike?

I'm doing my research on this and am obviously aware of the risks in Ukraine at present, but being a large employer in Ukraine this could prove a target to cause further instability in Ukraine?

Zelinsky is going ahead prodded by the U.S not to negotiate. There several thousand miles away and has near-zero effects for U.S and mostly benefits. They couldn't care less about spilled Ukrainian blood when the Russian economy is being destroyed.

Drib - Soviet-era SAMs, you would think could be easily overcome with Russian electronic warfare capabilities (I have read this is on par with the U.S if not better) or missile strikes. I think there is more to the story of why they haven't so far.

Captian - U.S public policy since the end of the fall of the USSR is to never allow any power to rise to a level which can compete with the U.S, Russia doesn't fit the bill for this but China certainly does. Look at the "pacific piviot".

What I find very intriguing is why Russia hasn't attacked western armaments as soon as they enter Ukraine till now. They have been getting deliveries since the beginning of the conflict to the border and the Ukrainian military is then taking them into the country. No Nato members are delivering the arms inside the country.

They could simply tell the Americans, we will do the same for your next conflict. Taking into considerations Americas 200 year history - they have always been in war. Don't need to go far, just look post ww2.

Just to add a little more, Russia asked to join nato was told there is a process and it needs to join the "queue along with the little East european countries. Putin tooks this as a major snub and responded Russia is not any country, to be put in the same list as Lativa, Lithuania etc....all down hill from there.

The truth is americans would never let Russia join, they need to be top dog in Nato, and Russia would of tried to throw its weight around and stand shoulder to shoulder with U.S. I can imagaine military industrial complex would of been firmly against it. They need villians so they can sell as much arms as possible.

Go for it being a full-blown war like Ukraine? No, but a few missiles or moving troops within a few miles is plenty. Again this is very unlikely as just the threat is enough. Putin has shown, no means no, regardless of the reletavilly poor performance by the Russians.

Defo don't see Sweeden or Finland joining. Zero public appetite before and less I'm sure now. Keep status quo and live in peace.

As much as folks like to think I'm deramping, the facts are indisputable. The trend has been down for weeks and the conflict is getting worse, sanctions increasing. I'll join the party once there is more clarity because for now, anything is possible to this stock, leaning heavily to the side of negitive.

Very unlikely they will lift oligarch sanctions even in peace. Easy to put on sanctions but very hard to take off.

No political benefit for Gov or opposition parties to push for removal.
