If there was peace today, sanctions won't be lifted anytime soon. Possibly a partial lifting of EU sanctions, but the punitive ones will be semi-permanent. I doubt U.S sancitons will be lifted for a very long time, if ever. The U.S is far to anti-russian.

May EVR suspension be lifted, and for it to continue to pay the FTSE best divi!

I should add, I'm sure some folks noticed but the RnS for EVR, POG, POLY was near identical and obviously the timing....

Captain, yes they will be even more worried of Russia but terrified of the Russian reaction if they make the intention known to join Nato. Keep in mind joining nato take circa 10 years and candidate countries are not allowed to join nato if they are involved in any conflicts which Russia can make happen.

At the end of this, the West fully understands that when the Russians say no to further Nato expansion they mean it. After 4 rounds of expansion they've had enough, it's the top priority for their national security. I don't think we will see any new countries in the east joining nato from now on.

Not many folks on here have composure when money is on the line, resulting in tantrums, name-calling, and troll lists. Some excellent, polite and informative posters even when views wholly differ.

Fair, agreed there is an interdependence, especially between Europe and Russia and we certainly will see peace once again in Europe and things will get back to relative normality but for me, normality is a tense peace in Ukraine, and only SOME sanctions being taken off within 6 months of the peace. Many sanctions will end up being semi-permenent. The Europeans are not loving the Ukrainian conflict but the Americans are having an orgy over the conflict. Give Russian state a serious bloody nose, weaken Putin (in their eyes), Europe forced into spending more on defense and spent on American arms, purchasing more American energy plus other commodities, and showing China whats in store if it goes for Taiwan.

I will happily throw 20k at this, once I have more clarity on where its going. The situation is going to get worse before it gets better.

Also, have no doubt a diplomatic ceasefire/peace will happen. The issue is what what will happen to russia linked stocks. The GOVs globally want Russian financial blood and sanctions are super easy to put on but very difficult to take off.

I'm very much torn on this one, awesome awesome company but the world is out for russia. The risks outweighs the benefits and the last couple of weeks has shown that. Sanctions increasing on a weekly basis. The EU is on their 4th tranche of sanctions in 2/3 weeks.

Kiev attack is coming, let's see if they send in the ground troops or just surround the city and use it as leverage. Will be a bloodbath and Russian will resort to indiscriminate heavy weapons as they have in the past.

I'm still of the belief they will take all the coastline upto Moldova boarder before we see peace.

Correct there is no restriction. They are self sanctioning ie making a "business decision" as IG told me for anything russia linked, few brokers left when just a few weeks back every single broker was buying selling poly. I'm aware HL and Barclays are currently allowing buys and sells.

I would imagine the list will get smaller which is really unreasonable when there is no explicit law.

Cancelling the dividend was the right decision as long as there is no shady plans going forward by the CEO and major shareholders.
