The FTSE 100 surged by 1.7% to hover above the 7,650 mark on Thursday, lifted by rallies for heavyweight mining shares while markets assessed the impact of higher interest rates in the Eurozone and renewed evidence of economic resilience in the US. Anglo American soared by over 7% after JPMorgan raised its target prices for the mining giant, while Rio Tinto added nearly 5% following the bank’s recommendation upgrade. The bank cited higher Chinese steel production for the bullish signs in iron ore miners, as strong infrastructure demand offset signs of a slowing property sector. The results also allowed the rest of the sector to follow the positive trend with Glencore and Endeavor Mining adding over 3%. In the meantime, oil companies also extended their rally as Brent crude prices renewed their 10-month highs, with BP and Shell both increasing 2%.

I don't know of an outright rejection. But restrictions where pilgrim paths, burial grounds etc. are fairly common.

It does however get more complicated in the last year.

The law was changed to give greater power to 'native title'. Understandably the aboriginals flexed their new muscles.

In July 23 this was recinded. But a referendum will be held 14 Oct 23 to give "a voice to parliament"

All poling suggests it will fail and the original arrangements should be restored.

I am hopeful that the current 'log jam' will break and permissions will start to flow.

Nigel Farage has this evening championed a forthcoming establishment upset down under, which he has described as ‘Australia’s Brexit’.

The GB News presenter walked viewers through what the vote means and represents this evening, predicting that the Australian liberal and corporate establishment - like they did with Brexit - are facing a bloody nose.

On October 14, Aussies will go the polls to vote on whether the country should change its constitution to create a body called “The Voice” for aboriginal people, which would advise Parliament and the Government on matters affecting Indigenous communities.

The starting gun for all our activities will be permission. Should happen this side of Xmas.

If the BOD get some significant good news out before then, there won't be any "concerns".

There are 6.5 billion shares out there.

The mining industry in general and especially in Australia is very incestuous.

With the relatively amall amount of shares held by large investors, I don't think anything underhand is going on.

But if it is true, then I will grow rich as he forces a revival of SP.
