Nice post. £1 average for me and 24p for AMER. Let's hope things have turned. The mid cap tend to.follow the Majors as a trickle down from institutional investors getting excited with PoO semtiment.
Sorry to hear about INFA. I think you make a good point about keeping the number of stocks small. My portfolio very big and leaning towards more speculative play. I will trim it down H2 certainly selling a few of my oilers and put a bit more in more value plays. Can't help but think we are going to have a bit of a change in the economy as I feel this bull market is nearer the end..
Hi Crl. Hope all is well. I suspect a bit of retracement. I'm sure you done well on INFA. Wish I invested when u mentioned it to me. Was doing some serious research and then the shares exploded! Didn't buy...damn. still it pays to patient. TRIN is great company. Trying to look for next understated oiler ... PMG was my call last year and I'm hedging my bets on ZEN, EOG and AMER H2 be interested to hear what regular posters are looking at PS have s long term stake in all and accumulating for info.
Well a bit more shares purchased this morning. Hopefully don't regret it
Cricky. What a miserable few weeks. Quite a drop on few trades despite some strengthening of USD to EUR and some optimism for Palm oil pricing. I see Norpalm EGM today so have no idea if this is related. Should I add more.. possibly
Thanks for the suggestion. Can't say I know much about INFA I'll take a look. Interestingly have a reasonable stake in EOG another share that has bags of potential. Planning delays and Ireland politics have but a dampner. Interestingly the points you mentioned about speaking to management are so true and some of my biggest wins have been to establish a dialogue with the CEO or board (FOG PPC PMG). It's telling to me they're on the case especially if they respond late on Friday night ...much respect to Peter Levine and his blackberry!
Hi crl. You'll do fine here mate. A v solid company now that's beginning to get recognition. I sold at my target and I didn't want to get to gready. Did toy with getting back in but a bit of diversification to unloved oil and gas companies(see below) and to previous metal, base and uranium stocks mainly on TSX is the route I went. Also toying with averaging down on ZEN or initiating on SAVP where I don't think the market has quite got a handle on Seven energy deal. Be interested to hear about your other investment. What's your view on Range Resources? Cj
To all LTH. I bailed out a few months ago for a tidy profit. Wish I'd not now. Well done those still in and especially the frequent posters. ATB
Great news for the company. I presume that the exit is a buy out from Origin? I presume POQ stance that they are not a producer and therefore will at some point sell out. Any news from SA?
Oh well. That's farming. Good quarters/ bad quarters weakness in pricing not a great RNS. Personally still see a compelling long term investment.
No worries Luck. Analysis in my view still spot on!
10% now, could be news on Fortuna?
Kevin Hart was at Bowleven and Cairn before. Either way Ophir is undervalued my average about a quid
Very good post that nails the issues. I read the bulletin board most days. I used to blame RH, security and missed targets. At a time of rising prices and improving margins the halving of the share price despite apparent progress. There is more going on here. I have a 24p average and have been invested for several years. I enjoy all the contributions positive and negative. I hope we'll get a great update and we'll be back above 20p but I've sat on the sidelines like many I'm sure. I don't believe MM games can be responsible. I guess the upcoming drilling will be crucial and that's the impression the company has given me last week.
Ditto. Mad day at work so pleased to see the rise. I have quite a few k in this share and it's nice to see new investors. My average nearer 11. However this is a growth story and a value play. It would be nicer to see a bit stronger CPO price. Tuck it away for 3 years and reap dividend growth and at least IMHO sp 30. Lincoln I know reads LSE so am sure will be heartened by new enthusiasm. Im broadly positive but a little impatient. Every few months I message PL and he's always stresses step by step mantra. Of course I don't ask for any insider info nor would he disclose anything but especially during the 6p days he still responded and that says a lot. I think the PR is better. Institutional investors are solid. Political climate sensible. I'd like more clarity on PG side and more acquisitions would be nice. Farmout process takes many months of due diligence. Perhaps another Argentina acquisition 1st sort out the legals and then Paraguay?
Malcys bucket list doesn't guarantee success however no doubt positive coverage helps. Last year was a poor return for his stock but the previous year was a stella one. In such a volatile sector it's hard to pick the winners sometimes. He states he never personally invests in the stock picks. Perhaps this could be argued for impartiality and reduce bias for his coverage and interviews which are a bit light touch for my liking.
Sit on sidelines...
Like dominos they're following DRC threatening unilateral mining code introduction. Best sit inside lines.
Hi. I use interactive investor. It used to be TD investing before but they got bought out by II which was great as had ISA in II and linked my accounts. It is good for me. I only own one ASX Alicanto Minerals. I have about dozen TSX (Mirasol, Callinex, Skeena, Mawson resources, Nexgen, Energy Fuels, Denison my biggest). Majority money (65%)in ISA in UK funds President Energy, Parkmead, Dekeloil, SDX, SLP, BKY. Previous horrors including ROSE and Xtract and Caza for which the mear thought of those days means I have to lie down. Prior owner of SOU PANR and FOG and did well on those
