Today is the lst trading day beofre the Dubai airshow.
We already know the KLM/AF deal is going to involve a lot of A350's, THY might be on 10 a350's and Thai is trying to get the price down. Which reminds me of a story told by the head of British Aircraft Copration (BAC)
Freddie Laker was buying the BAC 1-11. Freddie tried to get he price down but BAC was having none of it. Evenyually freddie gave up and suggested he receive a personal payment as a 'commision' for £10k. The boss of BAC couldn't believe that Freddie was asking for a bribe or he would walk away. He agreed to the payment and when Freddie annunced the deal he held up the cheque and said that he had such a good deal that BAC had given him a cheque as thefirst down payment!
Tufan has stated that RR were selling engines cheaply in order to sell the care package at a profit. He stated that the care package was seriously underpriced as an insurance policy because the cost of sorting out the T1000 issues were too much.
After all the good news and potential news in the next couple of weeks has this fallen today? For whatever reason its a great buying oportunity. Expect good orders to be placed next week in dubai.
Market duster Quote What good is an engine without an airframe !
An airframe without the engine is just a BUS
Excellent find but why has RR not announced this?
It starts on Monday. I'm expectingg orders from KLM/AF, THY, THAI and possibly Cubana. Should be an interesting start to the week before the update on the 28th.
After the DUbai airshow we should have further upgrades and then we shall have the 28th! On track to be 300p by months end.
I;m surprised this has been announced so close to the Dubai airshow which starts on the 17th.
Im hoping for the AF/klm. thai and THY order to be announced then,
Have just topped up this morning. DUbai Airshow coming up soon.
A few years ago a colleague at RR came into the office and told me that with the T1000 and XWB RR would be completing one engine a day. This seemed to be an impossible target at the time but it has been achieved, SInce then there have been lots of redundancies and I doubt that production rate has been maintained. Anyone heard anything more on this?
Personally I see a bit of profit taking which is no bad thing and pepole pulling out incase the Middle East erupts over the weekend.
Profit taking after a good week
Somemone is loading up at 224p
The engine monitoring control room in Derby has more people working in it than 6 months ago. Things are definitrly looking better. All inline with the recent GE figures. I continue to expect 300p by November 30th.
"catalyst" event."
Is a DIVIDEND about ti be announced?
Forget all this negativity there is just no news at the moment. The news will be in 2.5 weeks. The Dubai air show will be on. Orders wil be announced. We believe these to be AF/KLM, Thai,THY Which should be around about 100 odd engines. Hopefully a few other orders will be announced. Then about a week later the trading update which following the GE results should be a slam dunk for positivity. I can see the SP reaching 300p on all this and the clues are all out there for anyone to see now.
The worst decision RR ever made was getting out of the narrow body market and putting all its eggs into widebody.
That when Defence in Bristil gears up.
