If war does start in the Mid East then the airlines will fly longer routes just like Finnair has for the past year. That means more hours which as you know RR charges extra for and makes more profit

Looks good
Initial thoughts are that great this reduces the $1BN of spares RR carries but it must redce profits in the long term?
I was with a certain company in Saudi under the AL YAMAMAH contract. They had about a dozen 2ft models made of the Hawk aircraft. Saudi had bought 30 of these aircraft. Gerrards the jewellers had made the models in solid silver and extremely detailed they were.
Exported to Saudi they got stuck in Customs. We were despatched to unstick them. The head of Customs looked at one of the models and mentioned how beautiful it was. So we suggested that he might like to have one?'For me?
he said. Then looking at the perwork he lifted his rubber stamp and said 'Well I see no problem here' and stamped the paperwork.Eleven models were unstuck.
For some bizarre reason the Telegraph reporter apears to be very negatie on RR.

He probably thinks the cars are part of RR.
I'v had a feeling that games are being played with the SP recently. I'm often suspicious of negative news reports mostly because hedge funds do go short and do plant stories in the media.DOes anyone know if RR is being shorted
With the sale of ITP Defence isn;t all that large just now.
In times of turmoil never rush into buying. Also be aware that you will never buy at the lowest price. But remember Warren Buffet who says be greedy when others are fearful. The real question you need to ask is 'Is there enough fear out there yet?'
Price points are relevent too. 200p is a good level but any scare could quickly see 190p.A real scare will be 125p. patience needed.
If Iran moves to war then 150p will arrive very quickly probably stopping at 100p. If not then a rest around 190-200p?
Badland is just a russian bot
Firstly there are no real skivers these days. What I have seen on the shop floor are very experienced people who can do the job blindfolded they know it inside out. A few years ago RR did a study where theyset teams in Hong Kong, SIngapore and Derby the same task They expected the Far East to be cheaper than Derby. Derby though beat the Far East!
The main problem RR has is being over managed. What happens is a manager tries to grow their team with a couple of managers who then take the blame for any issues instead of the main manager. That seems to be rife . Meanwhile the cost of so many redundancies is going to be huge. Earnings will be lower
We are a month away from November statement. A lot can happen before October is out
I totally agree with you a lot of departments are only 80% mannnedand peole are stressed because of it. Easton made 4500 reundant an then had to rehire on contract. It cost RR a fortune in the end. If the order book is full then meet demand dont chop the workforce.
RR is so much more than SMR. The SP should be over £5. SMR should add £3.My target is £8. We are awaiting some orders to be announced and I exoect the them to be announced at Dubai airshow in November. November is also results. I see £3.59 by the end of next month
November
Best to be aware that some posters are Russian bots trying to disrupt the SP and chat boards etc. RR is constantly being attacked as are any companies prioviding Ukraine with support.
Also with 50 years experience in submarines
Te markey is seeing this contract win as a win for BAE where the shares are up 20p. Eventually they might link it up to RR etc but for now its BAE
A few years ago RR were producing an engine a day. So I wouldn't worry too much about keeping up with Airbus production.
As I predicted this morning.
