The latest Investing Matters Podcast episode featuring financial educator and author Jared Dillian has been released. Listen here.
i also found this;"The Coxhoe Branch is an offical branch of the Sunderland Association Football Club Supporters Association. Based in the North East Of England we cover the villages of Bishop Middleham, Coxhoe, Kelloe and West Cornforth" Can't believe WGP got this deal. - it's fantastic. A real step up !! ...crack open the Babysham!!! Woot Woot !!
i think you are right in what you say it looks more like an Affliliate relationship with a couple of very low non league clubs, maybe its being used as a test case. Its a start , but considering on what basis investors put money into the company and are still being asked to do so- patents worth millions (slated down to £1 in the ITS winding up and failed action against City Index), numerous RNS statements that have proven not to have come to fruition, claims of owning Premier League football deals etc etc ...to a couple of revenue share deals with non league football teams, i think you are right, there seems no value in that for investors or potential investors. Surely any income (if there is any) is so small it will get swallowed in costs right away. The memo Southerndude relesed was stating a profit of £3.8m if i remember correctly - that cannot be a current memo based on these facts?? Such a shame because things sounded so promising back in the summer.
i dont think that rings true. Don't forget Newcastle have just removed powered by Worldlink off their website and the Ryman League which is all non league (and a deal that was announced by Wordllink) still say that there is no relationship with Worldlink. There don't appear to be any non league clubs mentioning Worldlink and frankly even if they did what value is that? - so sacrifice Premier League teams like Sunderland, Newcastle and Fulham for a few non league club logos. Where's the value in that? - sorry not being negative just fact. Think Bunglebob is talking porkies.
I know you want to stay optimistic - just like the trail of creditors owed millions, discarded at whim when WL fold companies. They probably held out hope they would see a return on their investment. But all WL can do is moan that investors have let them down, if the product was that good then there would be investors lining up but clearly there are not - Why? Will any investor want their money to be swallowed up by debt and management fees rather than go into developing a business. As for the football deals, well the current season is now all but half over, and it was Betbutler themselves apparently stated they had no links "financial or technical" to Worldlink http://calvinayre.com/2012/10/19/business/bet-butler-not-owned-by-worldlink/ That leaves the patent but apparently they lost the case to City Index and another set of costs awarded against them. So how can that be encouraging news to any investor. I also hope things turn out well but you have to look at the facts. And where are the Accounts ???
What planet did you land from saying such nonsense (planet Worldlink??) - BUT for benefit of other genuine investors the only reason the clubs welcomed Worldlink was no doubt they assured them as a PLC they would honour the contracts, little did the clubs know that WL never had the money it said it had in the first place, nothing to do with investors pulling out, there were no investors and there was no money.. Why would Betbutler want to work with a company that has not bothered defended its patents and valued them at £1, traded insolvently with high profile football chairmen, left a trail of creditors and lost total credibility with the world of sport. Yes i can see why Betbutler would definitely want to be partnered with this outfit. There are plenty of mobile companies doing what Worldlink claim they can do in the market and here is just one of them www,bet2go.com -
HS ADVFN Worldlink "logo now removed from Newcastle United website". So from massive self PR, advertising at 3 Premier League clubs, Ryman League, Club Websites etc etc the ONLY place that Worldlink now have anything left is a tiny logo on the website of Ramsgate Football Club. They think it's all over....It surely must be now !!
sports betting and gaming was as lucrative as a company like WGP make it out to be then there is no way that Betbutler/WGP would have been able to secure the football deals away from established operators like Paddypower, Betfair etc - WGP are basically saying its a licence to print money in the UK - that has to be a load of tosh, if it was that great then they wouldn't have even got a look in. Well do they even have any rights left anyway i don't think so?
If you wanted investors to put money into a company i think you would not publicise only a £38k profit - making statements of £3.8m profit is surely a sure fire way of encouraging small private and sometimes inexperienced investors into parting with their cash no? but is it moral based on the facts - especially since none of this story includes the huge sums they owe to 3rd parties. Would love to see the P&L forecast..
I thought that Jackanory went off air years ago. Oh, here is an excel spreadsheet and a nice upward curve showing a healthy profit of £3.8mill after 12 months. Who is creating this rubbish, its absolute nonsense ! if it's that easy to raise money ...my god....do people really buy into this ???
Quote "the client figures for Betbutler have been based on Worldlink's assessment of the opportunity" - so an established betting firm is relying on a technology company to make assessments of betting and gaming revenue....well that has to attract the investors...
I can definitely see why Betbutler wish to merge with Worldlink, because they have built up such a a lot of goodwill and a solid reputation for good business ethics in the sports community. No brainer ! lol I bet the clubs are just waiting with open arms to welcome them back !! Has the person who wrote these "reports" been in deep freeze for the last few months or just deluded !?
I cant counter that news because positive conversations have been going on with potential investors for a long time, its always positive, always about to happen any day now, and always funding is on the horizon. Very positive outlook as usual. PS any "positive" sign of the accounts yet that were promised end of October? Yours positively x
SD in the memo about proposed relist it assumes there is no problem with Worldlink Sports. There is a massive problem with Worldlink and anything to do with Sports and betting. Considering that Worldlink Sport signed millions of pounds of contracts whilst effectively insolvent there is zero likelihood that any sports brand will have anything further to do with this company be it directly, or indirectly. Even though it looks like Betbutler have picked up some of those contracts, my sources tell me that Worldlink and its directors are about to face lawsuits from high profile clubs and sports teams who have been left in the lurch by Neil Riches signing contracts knowing he didn't have the money to pay for them.Surely any new investor must have done due diligence on all of this?
Worldlink have been completely removed from the Sunderland FC website http://www.safc.com/ if you look at the list of partners on the foot of the page. It used to say powered by Worldlink and now it is just Betbutler. Worldlink have obviously no sports rights left apart from Ramsgate FC - so much for the high profile press releases about Premier League teams. Cant believe that Chairmen like Al Fayed are going to let this go lightly..
Based on the fact Worldlink liquidated ITS owing at least 4 law firms several hundred thousand pounds (one of them over 500k) its very unlikely any law firm would want to represent Worldlink without fees upfront. I am sure their legal team quit on them which is why they had to represent themselves. Not odd, just no other option.
The news story suggests Betbutler have now distanced themselves totally from Worldlink (technically and financially) which contradicts elements of the RNS Worldlink released last week. isportconnect have definitely removed Worldlink banners, Sunderland match today on Sky Sports had Betbutler without Worldlink also, neither did Fulham yesterday. Didn't expect it to unravel so quickly is what i meant, especially with comments coming directly from betbutler for the first time about status of the relationship with Worldlink. (strains of Celine Dion My Heart will go on playing in the background)
Didn't expect this http://calvinayre.com/2012/10/19/business/bet-butler-not-owned-by-worldlink/
