Dear Mr XXXXX,
Thank you for your email.
Three permissions are required from DAERA: marine licence, water abstraction and water discharge consents.
The Department is currently taking legal advice on our position regarding the requirement to advertise the Discharge Consent and Abstraction licence review applications. It remains our intention to provide a further opportunity for members of the public to comment on these applications. There was a delay in progressing the advertising stage, due to COVID-19 restrictions, but the Department have since developed an agreed position on this which can be viewed on our website at:
https://www.daera-ni.gov.uk/emfg-niea-public-participation-during-covid-19
We continue to progress the applications for a marine licence, discharge consent and abstraction licence, via our normal application processes and the Department will make an appropriate recommendation on the determination of the applications once the full process has been completed. The timetable for this may vary, depending on the outcome of our further legal discussions.
Other permissions and licences may be required from other regulatory regimes to enable this project to progress.
Regards,
Marine Licensing Team
Edit: This is a repeat of my e-mail from them on the 4th September.I have not published the e-mails until now because I wanted to hear the full picture from INFA & so I was not surprised to read this mornings RNS.However I believe that INFA could have saved money & time if they had agreed to todays notification back in September. Please note I still am saying 'Strong Buy'.In addition please read the last part of the e-mail as more may still be needed after the publications.GLA
