Quick question if I may. How is a spread bet account raided for shares? My spreadbet account is £x per point long/short at x price. No actual shares changing hands anywhere. I fully understand about having the required margin, which can be hunted for and executed, but where do shares actually come into this?
@ Pdub. Very simply because there is nobody buying in any quantity at 20p. There are however plenty of shares available to buy at 20p and until that changes the share price is stuck where it is. The majority of people believe this is worth more, i'm in agreement, however the simple fact remains that there is currently an oversupply of shares, it really is that simple. Doesn't matter what the price of vanaduim is. This will only gain traction when the seller has gone and for that you need volume to get rid of them and that currently isn't here. Doesn't matter how much money BMN are making or how much progression the company is achieving, while there is a seller at 20p that will remain the price. It disappointed me a little you didn't curb the enthusiasm yesterday of cries of a 5% rise based on nothing because should someone have been screaming 5% down today you'd have been there in a flash ;) Balance balance balance...... (take this in good humour i'm not attacking you ;) )
Of course that’s what he meant.. if the business was loss making that’s different. I’m all for putting cash back in for the growth of the company however if that is at a slower rate and divi’s paid I’d be happy with the slower growth. Or we could all trade the share a little to make a little extra.. we know this board loves the traders ;)
If you look at some of the trades in the last few hours on BMN there are lots buys/sells of the same number a few seconds apart. This looks exactly the same as explained in the BUR SP manipulation report. Or am I overthinking things?
It means that the percentage of stock being temporarily loaned, usually by larger shareowners, for use by shorters temporarily selling it, has already been fully utilised. If the bookie cannot access any loaned stock with which to take a short position in the market, he is unlikely to offer you a downbet.
It really makes no difference if the short has closed or not.
I'd rather it was still open as the buying back to close it has clearly made no difference to the SP.
There is clearly a feeling of underhandedness however I would like to think if nothing else that this short closing has finally rid us of whichever entity has been causing the overhang.
Time will tell I suppose.
Not sure he means today RichKen think he means in general, weren’t you predicting only a few days ago of high 20’s in 5-10 days.. Based on what, hopefully not the same information last year of 50p by xmas being mentioned in November. We all have a great fondness of this company, the management and its prospects however the guessing is very tiresome. Anyway it won’t matter soon as Christ is reappearing next week just before the end of the world a week on Wednesday ;)
If this turns out to be the bottom i would love to speak to the chap who came on here months and months ago stating all gaps in charts always get filled and informed us of the big gap to 19p... well 10 out of 10 you were correct despite the slating you got. Please come forward and take a bow.
