That misses the point. Of course they have to follow rules.
People are getting confused because they don't know the difference between a scrip issue, which this was, and a dividend.

The confirmation was retrospective so it couldn't have been put on the LSE website the same day it happened!!!!!!

The RNS is crystal clear to me.
This is not a dividend, it is a capital distribution so to me this bit about XD etc is not relevant.
Not surprised some companies can't handle it, it's unusual

The CAI shares are not dividends!

You can put CAI in an ISA.
Simple as that.

You get your CAI shares next Tuesday.

I didn't think a Placing was imminent; that was just the impression I got

I just can't see how it affects whether you buy or not. Placings go with the territory and if you trust the management they are actually a good thing.

Who said they need a placing?. Didn't need one to get Togo where it is now.
If the price is what it is now, why do you think will they start mining ?. To me the lower the Mn price at the moment the better.
Future development paid by offtaker- although agreed need Mn to increase first

We've all doubled our money in 6 months!
I reckon we might get close in the next 6 months.
