its getting harder to find a bargain at car boots ,but i have had another good year despite the 16 weeks lockdown. as i have been networking for ten years people say the gold for me and i pay on the scales . i also check for about 6 charity shops and i pay more than they would get of the local jewellers
i scrap out in Birmingham Lois as i find the Hatton garden dealers pay higher price per gram but pinch a bit when you scrap out.
scrapped out about 50k this year but replaced with some sovereigns.
as long term when gold hit say $3500 or £30 a gram for 9ct i be scrapping the lot out , and Sovereigns are CGT Free
so building position up for retirement

I see gold hitting $3500 on low side with $10000 upside

Azzurri it takes years to build up reputation .I started networking about 10 years ago when I could see interest rates being low a long time.
I get most of the physical gold at carboots and fairs. I convert scrap to sovereigns on the gold price drop.
Work of 15% margain minimum
Every deal I make it brings my holding average down.
You do need a acid test kit as there is a lot fake gold and fake sovereigns
But having the physical gold is great
You are building your own position and it can't be manipulated
I do have shares in CEY and other stocks it edges my position in physical gold

I personally don't see gold going to 1000$
My view is 2500$ to 3500$ medium term.
I do beleive gold is manipulated.
But that doesn't bother me.
I buy with 15% margain.
And covert scrap to coins.
