It depends how you differentiate short term-medium term or long term, the market will decide this not you or myself.

Up 13.3% is a nice rise, what with broker rating of 375-410 this hopefully will start to climb, IMHO I think towards the end of the year beginning of next maybe sooner we will see this as a very strong investment, but like you bluebrain patience is the key to ANY share, gl all.

Had a very interesting chat to over the bank hol weekend to a trader in London, he has the opinion that a takeover in the next year or two could be on the cards, only his opinion I guess but does anybody else think this could happen?

Of course it's not going to affect the share price yet, but when certain things are announced for example results then it will matter, there WILL be rns late June early July maybe sooner, gl where ever you out your £.

Do you seriously think Jim McCarthy dosn't know what he's doing? He's very clever! It dosn't matter if it's Jane Asher or Mickey mouse products, if they sell huge volumes that's all that matters, just for the record the poundland store near me has had to get extra deliveries of the Jane Asher products due to the fact it's selling so well, anyway good luck.

Think the Jane Asher baking products go on sale 14th April, can only be a good thing, personally I think we will see this go over £4 in the next month, long term it's as good a share that your hard earnt money can buy, but as you say patience is the key with any share, if your not selling today don't worry, gl.

Totally agree with you, great write ups in the papers regarding poundland this weekend, think mon people will be topping up as at this price it's cheap. Gl all.

Think you've made some valid points, however if you've invested in poundland then surely it's wise to buy there regularly, I'm heavily invested here as I think it's going to fly. Only criticism I have is I went into one of there shops yesterday and it was packed, but they only had 5 tills working out of 10, long queues, the other thing I think they should have is some form of security, wouldn't cost any where near as much as they lose from thefts, really believe in this company though and don't think it will be long before it's approaching £6-7 a share, gl to all who have invested in this great company.

Anybody have a clue why the sudden rise?

Share price is already struggling because of the economic situation so what does Chris surch(director) do, decides to announce he is leaving 2 days before shanks get there results which makes the share price tumble even more, he couldn't of waited a few weeks to do this, if he isn't leaving until 31st aug it wouldn't have made a bit of difference, he must really value shanks as a company, ridiculous timing!!!!!!!

It makes no difference how much profit shanks make this is not reflected in the share price, and never really has been, no reason why anyone would want to invest in this company as the price moves south 95% of the time.......

Have an opinion on what the share price will do tomorrow??????

Hi, been an investor with shanks for a long time, and think Thursday will be a very interesting day, must admit it can be frustrating, but I do believe they will boom very soon, as they have said they have had a robust(strong) year, which in difficult times must be a good thing, as regards recent drop I think it's mostly to do with euro/Greece. Carlisle are still on the cards and maybe just maybe something will come up in Thursday's results,
