I've just crystallised my losses on this, my jewel in the crown share, to the tune of over £74k down the swanny. It feels like I've cut the snagged rope that was pulling the boat under. Like many on here, my finances are severely damaged from this endeavour and my hopes of earlier retirement have evaporated. Keep your chins up and wait for that light at the end of the tunnel.

Well I've just cracked, scooped up sub £16k from over 90k invested, left a trace amount of 10k shares remaining. Seems to be on a one way journey I'm very sad to say. Sigh

I'm sure you don't really need telling this, but within an hour and a half after the hoped for RNS the sp will have spiked up to just over 26p then a gentle decline through mid morning to around 21.5p. From thence for the next seven months we shall see an undulating but determined augmentation to the 65p zone, which of course will hold, give or take 4p until spring of 2021.

Amen to that sentiment.

I'm with you icecool, but your point 'if the Board were running out of cash, the recruitment would be on freeze and procurement would come to a standstill', to play devil's advocate, if the board were to do those things it would be an obvious forewarning to the market what was afoot.

Good post wwguk, but I can't imagine the Bojo Gov seeing anything past the current Brexit turmoil and shenanigans. It would be very encouraging to think they would consider underwriting the project in some way, or at least strongly indicating such at this time.

The BBC are our equivalent of CNN in the US. They are clearly not in the loop in any way, so as FFC says, old footage, stood outside the site speculating on secondhand conjecture. I think Boris et al have much bigger fish to fry this week.

Missed out then too, still held through that 52+ event, even bought 2 tranches in the 43s to my shame around then. It's easy to top up given ready lucre but trading can take more balls to do.

Got me to a nice round number, the total cost of which for a good while has been most of my ISA portfolio, so like many my shirt is firmly on this one for better or worse. I've been in and out (mostly in) since 2011 and more than ever this feels like the big one hurdle wise. This time around I've made 13 buys in a row, beginning at 35p a year ago and as of now my average is 18.1p. I'm still kicking myself for not selling up when it spiked up to 26+p a while back and waiting to return, I stood there like a rabbit in the headlights and chickened out. This share has become a gamble rather than an investment to me but I'm here now and against my natural instincts, I try to stay positive. These half million shares will be life changing for me if they take off, somewhat less so if they tank, they can't go below zero after all. Good luck to the believers.

I think PIs are seen as more trigger happy, more sentiment driven in their actions than IIs, so the more stable type of investor is favoured.

Seems to be the pattern these days, first hour interesting then the steam goes gently out of it. As long as it goes in the right direction overall, I'm happy.

I used to think the same, why on earth would you sell at such a low point? But I've been considering selling recently, even though I'm deep under water also (average 21.82p). The rationale is that I can then buy back in lower down later on and in so doing improve my position, average wise, but I keep chickening out. I've made about 12 buys and no sells this time around, I've been in and out since 2011. I'm still kicking myself when it went to 26p weeks ago and I did nothing, buying back in now with those proceeds would have been transformational for me. I'm now sitting on 340k which is a ton and a half for me, getting in and out is not done lightly now.
