The latest Investing Matters Podcast with Jean Roche, Co-Manager of Schroder UK Mid Cap Investment Trust has just been released. Listen here.
Elon is dumping 10% of his 23% Tesla shares wow! That is around 23-24billion dollars. Why is the Captain jumping from his own ship? Who will sail it now? Surely not Dogberry or Koffee? Oh no! What will we do? Let's call chamath or Cathie woods for help! Oh wait, they already sailed off on the early life boats. Good luck guys, this ship is about to get rocky. I hope you sold.
Koffee....I will sip you with biscuits next year. Keep holding the bag and chanting for master Elon. This parade won't last forever and we all know Tesla is beyond ridiculous now. The economy is running on depreciating paper for now and once it's worthless, the torch bearers like Tesla will be first to fall......I'm kind of enjoying seeing you all happy for once. Like gazelles grazing and not taking notice of the pride of lions moving in for the feast.
Most smart sellers closed their positions and are sitting on the sidelines and trading on fundementals elsewhere. I rode a few long ETFs on Tesla and exited. It's been a ride and January will be dark for all stocks and asset classes. For now enjoy the boom. Everyday is a new all time high in any index or stock. Literally everyday! Even a blind mouse with a dollar can make a quick buck
Just buy a random stock and it will double in a week. This is the most insane I have ever seen the stock market. Tesla is just a pie that's not ripe yet, let is keep cooking up in the oven and we shall cool it down later next year when you suddenly need a parachute to stop the fall from killing your gains. Selling now or before January is a good move whilst you are still in profit. Buying at these levels is a risk. What other amazing news could push Tesla motors stock into $1500 territory?
Some of what you say actually makes sense Dogberry and I'm not a hater, I'm a congratulator
So here's a toast to your success but just remember that the Chinese aren't very straightforward with competition or intellectual property. I hope Elon plans to make all his innovative ideas open source because the Chinese will have copies ready in no time. I remember during my time in China, I must have seen hundreds of knock off copy cars that imitated western brands. Let's see how this market fares for Tesla and the tech industry when the economy begins to realign with the stock market.
Massive forest you say?
Great. Welcome to earth where Deforestation is as common as breathing. 50% per year for 9 years?? Wow. That is amazing indeed. So will Tesla be the only car manufacturer left on planet earth then? Where will Lucid, Xpeng, NIO, Fisker and all the other motoring giants who are still growing be? Will they just wake up one day and forfeit their market share to Tesla? 50% per year for 9 years seems a bit excessive don't you think?
I closed my position with 7% still in profit. You forget I opened mine at back in January ;-(|) great ride but I will get back on with intraday trading an wait it out. We can't rise forever. When you reach the top of the tall tree I will be waiting at the bottom with my chainsaw.
Koffee, why do I get the impression you only heard about electric cars last week? They have been here since 1884 when Thomas Parker put his models into production. The tech has drastically improved but unfortunately, it's nothing new under the sun. You act like they are the best thing since sliced bread. It is just momentary hype until alternative fuel sources get cleaner and will probably take over.
What do you want me to say koffee? Wow it's a spaceship! It has change my life and I am better for sitting in it? I have an electric Audi Etron, it is no different to an electric Tesla in many ways. I think cave people are still finding electric cars to be the most amazing things since fire was encountered. Yes it has all the gimmicks and tech but it is still just a car with the same purpose, to get from Point A to Point B. Everything else is not relevant. Your life is essentially unchanged .

I have been in a Tesla and there is nothing particularly revolutionary or life-changing about it.
Icebill ......Lucid=quality premium brand
Tesla= cheap and tacky Lego bricks with glue and tech put together.
I posted last year about the poor build quality of Tesla's. Even looking at the reviews on trust pilot
https://uk.trustpilot.com/review/tesla.com?stars=1
They seem to be more concerned with meeting quarterly earnings report to please shareholders and to maintain a high share price over customer needs. This will cause a negative feedback loop in the near future whereby Elon will irreversibly damage the Tesla brand name through poor quality. Honestly, I don't think Elon plans to stay in the motoring world for another decade, he will jump ship when Tesla starts tanking and he can no longer manipulate the share price.
Tesla will be sold to GM or some other capable candidate once the dust settles. Right now we have an over excited market frenzy that is causing Tesla to be overvalued whilst producing silly putty quality cars. They have some of the best tech but are in a rush to meet shareholder demands.
Just look at how Lucid motors is moving at a timely pace and focusing on build quality even if it limits quantity. The Tesla fanboys are obsessed with production numbers and this is all they talk about. You could produce a million cars but once the market realises they are not worth squat then the brand will decline.
Koffee is lonely. Eileen is out of your league Tesla fanboy. Keep dreaming. Hello Eileen ;)
Yeah I totally agree Eileen, I had posted earlier about the disastrous consequences of disposing of an electric car at the end of its life. They are absolutely toxic to the wider environment and the whole thing has indeed been a sham from the start. If ICE vehicle producers were a little more smarter, they should consider a grand lawsuit against Tesla and the states that participated in the whole regulatory credits scheme. It makes a mockery of true progress in every sense and allows government subsidy funded leeches like Elon to prosper at the great xpense of others.
Koffee says the most interesting of things.....I suppose he is much like the microcosm of what a typical Tesla fanboy is. A bit wacky and absurd but still somehow able to function in the real world. Doesn't believe in climate change but supports Tesla which is built on the concept of tackling climate change through electrification. Tesla is even willing to abandon earth for mars if climate change solutions fail.
Not believing man went to the moon.....well I guess that just falls into the usual catalogue of conspiracy theories. If climate change isn't real then Tesla is openly scamming ICE vehicle producers by gaining from the sale of regulatory credits. You just openly admitted that by denying climate change. Do you realise that?
Neil Armstrong and Buzz Aldrin would strongly recommend you visit the nearest psychiatric ward for a mental evaluation. Man has already been on the moon. Of course, I understand your logic as a Tesla cult fanboy, it has not happened unless Elon has done it first. So by your logic Elon will be the first man on the moon and the first man in space.
Hahaha my point exactly, i do have real money in the market, some is short Tesla and my virtual portfolio is worlds away from my real portfolio. Man has already been on the moon and mars is barren. I don't understand the logic in spending so much effort and money to terraform mars when we could spend a Lot less resources and effort by just resolving the issues here on earth.
Mars is a pipe dream for now and the space age has yet to begin properly. Any intelligent alien life form we encounter will pity us and laugh at the same time. How can one half of the planet be space faring whilst leaving their fellow man to suffer and struggle for basic necessities? What a selfish race we are. Tell Elon and Bezos the bozo not to come back to earth when they leave.....and go with them.
They have no sense of humour because they are emotionally invested and their life savings are hanging in the balance with Tesla. If Elon farts they panic and if we say anything to contradict their belief in Tesla, they freak out. This is just hilarious.
The fanboys get so emotional when they don't see Tesla going up infinitely as they wish. Just as pointed out by Jep, I even had an emotional fanboy threatening physical violence because he can't read financials and make sound decisions. Depending on forum posts and noise from other fanboys like Dogberry (who is on a tesla payroll) is a sure way to lose money needlessly.
Most short position holders are very well hedged and know what they are talking about when they say Tesla is an overvalued company with no real connection to traditional fundamentals on how a company should be valued.
It's funny how the fanboy crowd was adamant Tesla would rocket to $1000 or more as soon as Q3 reports were published. We has a few % rise and that was it. The tech sector is largely in trouble as the economy is now at the key moment of corrections beginning to start.
Let's see where Tesla is in December this year.
We may be amateurs as you say koffee but some here (Dogberry) are clearly on a payroll of some kind to actively promote biased views of Tesla. There is almost no objective view of Tesla in any of the links you keep sharing with us. Everything is just adding fuel to the hype.
Those with experience may understand this type of scenario better whilst those with hopes and dreams tied to Tesla will keep believing that a cartoon sketch looking vehicle they call a cyber truck is the ultimate vehicle to conquer the market. I think the cybertruck is not very tasteful appearance wise. It looks like a cardboard cutout from a breakfast cereal box for kids.
I have a different taste I guess. It may workout who knows?
Dogberry, that is even better that you have even confirmed your position in Tesla as a financial executive there. So please do share some inside information. What is Elon planning on the upcoming Quarterly earnings report? Can we expect anything more than cooked books and gimmicks this quarter?
