I can't decide whether you are taking the pi55 or are genuinely that optimistic.
When this was at 40p I would have been gutted at 49.99p but after averaging down like most people on here over the last painful 18 mths I would be ecstatic at that level.

I think the Bod are just giving us all the heads up that tomorrows the day and we need to set our alarms. Could be a twin announcement with another company in the morning or over night in another time zone/market which they need to release first.

The Top Line Price is not the issue........... its over rented stores with long leases, huge TUPE liability for the staff and generally a deficit in the Pension Fund.
This isn't a property play, its buying market share. A 200-300 store deal at best is all that will happen as a Prepack before it goes pop!

As I forewarned earlier this week this has Prepack written all over it.
The best stores cica 2250-3000sqft will be acquired and the rest will be burned after a shortish marketing Campaign by someone like Christie & Co
They will flog small packages to other multiples and stand alone higher value stores to independents to cover the Administration Fees.
The Landlords of the stores won’t be paid rent for many months and won’t get their keys back until the process has finished. Many LL’s have commercial mortgages to pay or have the property held in their pension pots. They will feel the pain too!
Seen it all before with FQR, Unwin’s and others.
The share holders will be left with buttons and not even chocolate ones!

Seen it many times…… Look at M-Local for a start.
It’s the easiest way to ditch the dross sites and retain a core business which may well be picked up by One Stop, Co-Op, Regional Co-ops and Best Way. AFB, CJ Lang and James Hall might work together to try pick some up but Only small numbers. The odd independent will buy some but after the Administrators costs there will be nothing left.
This is one area I have extensive knowledge of.
