RE: Anza - just how big25 Feb 2024 09:00
Can a leopard change it's spots? Is a big question to ask. Clearly this board of directors, Omi's track record has been nothing short of diabolical during this hiatus in which there has been very little for shareholders to shout about, with a cash burn that is unsustainable.
Newmont's take over is having significant effects in the mining space. Part of what Brad said is true (that Newmont's focus has changed and Anza doesn't stack up for them anymore). Greatland gold holders are also feeling the effects of the shift in Newmont's strategy and cost saving drive after their take over. Does not mean the potential is not there.
Of course there many hurdles to jump through to go from where Anza is currently to being a producing mine.....and there are many questions left unanswered such as the strategy, focus and finance.
My belief is Anza will be coming back to Omi, the market will react well to that fact, that's a given. No-one knows the timeline on this. Could be tomorrow, could be a week, month or a year. If the board of directors manage to do that (get Anza back) after all the spends and data collection so far, they have done marvellously well.
Like I keep saying market don't care for these webinars, they have been overused with very little benefit. It's just made the company look amateur. It's not about the journey, it's about the destination. Market perception will change very quickly if we start to get official notifications on the state of play of Anza. Anything positive people will jump back in.
The choice is obvious. People either believe them or they don't. Don't believe then people should sell and take the loss if they are underwater. If you believe, keep adding while you can when everyone is fed up.
I have been frustrated like the best of them but I have faith that an advantageous resolution can be found here for Omi and that is all that matters to me.
Funding, direction, strategy are all extremely important but those questions are not for the here and now. All that matters to Omi is getting that project back in its hands.
And if this is achieved, the horns and trumpets will be blowing, sentiment will flip. Might even see a substantial director buy (for once lol).
It's a binary play though currently they get Anza back or they don't. Do you feel lucky? I do :)
