As I understand it, BHR is only one of many producers of thermal coal in the neighbourhood. This is a by-product of the coking coal providers and WASTE with environmental consequences. BJ has mentioned in various interviews that any of the Tete basin coals will mix with BAO iron to produce a high quality pig iron for export or feed to a local steel industry. With the likes of Rio Tinto, Tata Steel, Nippon Steel, POSCO and Jindal Steel and Power (Page 4 of the latest PPP) it would seem more appropriate for BAO to align itself with one of these major international corporations ?

Good post ritibejo . However I believe that BJ mentions that BAO will be using cheap THERMAL coal for its pig iron/vanadium production and that bench scale tests have confirmed the suitability of any number of local sources including VALE and RIO coal.

Jindal have not BOUGHT the BHR capacity on the Sena railway since this railway is state owned. I believe that Jindal is simply paying a tariff to BHR that they would otherwise be paying themselves. I would imagine that it is in the Govt. best interests to have the highest value bulk products using the SPARE capacity available on both the expanded Sena and Nacala corridors. Pig iron/vanadium vs coal ?

Not sure if Beacon Hill will be in a position to use their allotted capacity any time soon.

Good to see that the IFC is a stakeholder in the $20 BILLION Simandou iron ore project in Guinea which demonstrates the depth of pockets available for good mining projects. This project requires 700kms of railway , 35 bridges as well as construction of offshore handling terminal and not yet commenced ! Prepared to back a commodity currently trading at around $100 per tonne.

South African elections looming , chronic water shortage , power rotation and imminent fundraising possibility will put cap on share price for the time being. has anybody seen the pit design ?
