This share seems directly linked to the performance of the mining market generally; so if that index falls back, as it has been doing then it drags SHFT down too. The index was down 5% yesterday which didn't help the sp with bad news in the rns. There was some recovery from the yesterdays low, but I am far from certain there will be a bounce back today or in the immediate future; although of course I hope to be wrong. Any other views?. Ridingwaves.......if you are looking in; what are your thoughts?, are you still holding?. Regards CM

Good evening Thinksmart. This has been a very quiet bb. Its difficult to take such a day/week as this. GBG is an excellent company with excellent fundamentals. It has fallen prey to the conscience free market makers who ALWAYS win regardless of fundamentals and just LOVE market turmoil. In 2 weeks GBG issue their results, expected to be ahead of market expectations if the last statement is to be believed (and why not). I have every confidence in this share although realise there may be further turbalence ahead. I wish you and everyone else the very best of luck. Remember, the market always over reacts to situations but companies like GBO with fine expectations will (should) always bounce back.......eventually. Regards CM

Thanks for the post RW. I agree with you fully. I wonder if ANY market maker has a conscience. Although we all know or should know of the risks we take when we invest it seems that the market makers will ALWAYS win, regardless of any fundamentals. Its very hard to see profits, either here, or elsewhere which have been built up over months wiped out and more in a matter of days. Yes, it does give excellent entry points, that is true, providing you have the cash and the nerve and the good luck to invest at the best time which is only known in hindsight. Bert., I mentioned GBO in a previous post. You may look at it right now and think, "what the ***** is CM on about", especially if you look at the movement over the last 2 weeks and today has been painful too. However, this is down almost totally to the Greek situation and with more revenue coming from international business the fundamentals are very good. Now may not be the right time to invest in GBO, it may fall further and it may be worth waiting for some consolidation and a change in trend. So many shares have been hammered this last week or so regardless. At some time this nightmare will come to an end. I think I am going to take a break from posting on here or other boards. Good evening Bert. Thanks for your post. Glad to see NAD has had a great day; someone had to lets face it!, pity SHFT couldn't join in. Have you had a look at GBO?. Ridingwaves knows all about it and it is another share we have in common. The fundamentals are extremely good, but over the last week, 10 days it has been hit badly by the Greek fiasco, being a Greek based company, although a majority of its revenue now comes from abroad. A reason I mention it is, not to ramp it - it doesn't need that, but potentially it too is 100%. Without the fundamentals I wouldn't look twice at it, but it is expanding fast, has a low P/E, PEG and growing EPS. It has won a no. of awards for its technology. Like all shares at present there is risk attached to it, most notably the Eurozone problem. Ridingwaves and I have just topped up over the last few days (not necessarily a good sign when I am involved), but hey, it may be worth a look. Thanks for clearing up the homesick angel thing....knew it would be something silly, lol!. Lets hope for a better day tomorrow/next week etc. Regards CM

Thanks for the post Bert, good of you to get back to me, appreciated. Will have another look at NAD, but as you can understand I, and many others, are feeling pretty nervous just now and may wait for things to settle down more. On a personal note, I sold out of TMZ today, to free up some cash. I made a reasonable profit (for me), and may have made more had I stayed in for longer, but with the market indiscriminately marking everything down I felt I should exit now. I had been looking to sell for a little while because, despite its potential TMZ doesn't meet the strict criteria I now set for investing. Not sure what "fly like a homesick angel" means Bert............sounds like it should be the punchline of one of your jokes!. Care to explain?. Thanks folks; appreciate your posts. Begining to feel like I was on my own!. Don't know why but I just thought of the film "The Shining".......staring Jack Nicholson as the Market Maker!. Sorry...........it's been a long day!. Its been another bad day on the mkts. and obviously I would expect SHFT to be hit, regardless of its overall strength and potential. I think regardless of the state of affairs there needs to be a time of consolidation which is healthy. It is just a nervous time for all of us. Not a good day here folks but imo no need to panic or worry. GBG escaped the hammer yesterday but today along with many, many others it got hit. The fundamentals remain extremely good. See this as a temporary set back not a trend. These are difficult times and it will be companies like GBG which will come out of it the strongest. I don't blame anyone for taking profits here, good luck to you. The positive thing to come out of the present turmoil in the market is that it will give buying opportunities. Stay positive. I see the possibility of the FTSE falling further this coming week more on the back of the election results in Greece and France re. austerity measures rather than the poor jobless figures from the U.S last week which drove the markets down.This is just more uncertainty in the Eurozone and will undoubtably raise the question again of can the Euro survive?. We've heard it all before. How far it will fall I don't know, quite possibly down to 5540. If a companys' fundamentals are strong enough then there is no need to worry too much and may even open up a buying opportunity. Regards CM

Yeap, know what you mean, been investing and am experienced for long enough. "Be fearful when others are greedy, be greedy when others are fearful". Don't worry, all decisions are my own, but it is useful to get another take on things, to see another point of view, to see if I have missed anything (quite often have!). Not long ago I started studying charts a great deal, but in truth I was no better off and got myself confused a good deal and spent far too much time getting nowhere. I have a basic understanding but leave it to others to try and crack. Now I have returned more to fundamentals which drive the sp and therefore the charts. Charts show what has happened but can't predict what will happen nor the effect a good or bad rns will have. I keep an eye on the general trend of the sp by looking at the sp chart, especially before investing, but that is about it. Re. fundamentals, rns and sp chart, I invested a small amount in TRCS yesterday.....may be worth a look for anyone interested (not meant as a ramp). Thanks Bert. Have a good day. Regards CM

Good morning Bert and welcome aboard Rachel2. Just thinking aloud last night to be honest, after being out on the hill hiding from the dogs again (gives me time to think (not always a good idea!)). Yes, I've been there before too wondering if I should sell and buy again, comes from the odd bout of nerves. But if the fundamentals are good then there is less reason to worry. Thanks for your posts. It's pretty much along the lines that I was thinking. I posted previously that I was a little concerned about the rate of the rise in the sp; fearing that without establishing a base there was always a chance that the sp would fall back to the level it rose from. I knew too that the sp would likely to fall by the div. once it went ex. div., but I was expecting that to be possibly tomorrow - there seems to have been some confusion as to when the share went ex. div. I hope you are right Bert., about SHFT consolidating. I feel there may be more of a retrace first though, possibly down to the mid to high 70s even. Your optimism is good and well reasoned. Having just had a very quick look at the last results things do seem positive overall. Interested to know that you would top up if you had the funds. I don't believe you are a ramper, nor Ridingwaves, who I know from other bb and is always well reasoned with postings (we share pretty much a common approach to investment criteria). Question for me is do I sit tight and may have to see a further retrace, or sell, hoping to buy back in at a lower level (always a dangerous game/strategy). The share prices shown for just about all shares hasn't shifted since around 10 a.m. This is showing at 93.45 to buy at 13.20. Not a lot of use!. Have a good afternoon folks. Regards CM

Dividend will paid to those investors who are on the register as at close of business on 4 May. The sp movement today could possibly be put down to those inv. who foresee the sp being lower on ex. div. day by more than the div. itself and a good no. deciding to take some profits now. This has had a good run and is probably due a retrace. Lets hope it isn't by much. Not sure where the support level is. There are plenty of other shares down today, unfortunately. Good luck. Expect jump in sp Monday after positive report in D.M today, buy recommendation. May be worth while if price hasn't jumped too much early on or later on. Fundmentals good. Regards, CM
