""Still, think we could get a partner on modi1 this year"".............Yes, so do I. Something I have learnt is how difficult it is to get funding in this market for a share like ours. It was widely accepted a few years back, that funding would not be an issue, particularly when we received updates that all pointed to very compelling data from the SCIB1 monotherapy trial. It has been anything but and from the moment we did raise, the pressure to raise more just increased almost immediately, that being along with clinical development for an ever increasing pipeline being the just two reasons for eventually hitting our all time low in the last few months.
It has been said that Vulpes interest in Scancell began more than a year ago, under much scrutiny and due diligence, and my biggest surprise was the deal was concluded as close to the beginning of the SCIB1 combo trial as was possible, so yes with that in mind it would be no surprise to see a partner emerge before the MOD1 trial begins maybe around the time of the AGM this year when it seems reasonable to expect the first sets of data from the SCIB1 trial, and importantly at a much higher price than Vulpes have paid for their holding.
I was trying to look back at historical OXB RNSs last night, but the data available only went back to three recent Holding RNSs from the 4th, 5th and 6th of June, one was from Prudential, one from Vulpes but I couldn"t tell whether they had reduced their holding in that one. So it will be interesting to see if they can bring another significant ii to the table as well as any contacts they may have in the Pharma world.
One thing for sure IMHO is we have never been better positioned to get a very positive news flow in the months to come, and importantly be able to focus on the tasks at hand. I often said it seemed incredulous not to believe the BOD knew where the next funding was coming from, even moreso after receiving the last update confirming the MOD1 trial will start early next year. Don"t get too many things right, lol, so pleased with that at least.
