CFDs terrify me which is why it's not me doing it or even trying to trade along. Too much gearing and I don't trust even the "guaranteed" stops.

If it were a conventional naked short, I'd expect to see the price held down by A trades and large O buys to accumulate down here, but it doesn't really look like that (the amount traded looks too small for me). A CFD, however, doesn't require trading actual shares, it's a heavily-geared bet on the headline prices, which might make sense of what's here. The book could be used by a counter-party to a CFD to wreck its chances, too, if it's a bet the other way. Someone's regularly doing something algorithmically, that's for sure. (It's not clear from the trade records here, but there's more detail in the ones published by the Exchange itself.)

I refer interested readers to my summary yesterday of what an umbrella agreement is intended to achieve and thus why one is used. In particular, it is by no means "easily manipulated" once agreed, and why it's suboptimal to attempt a large N-way agreement. On the contrary, any attempt or need to change its terms requires further consent of all, and meanwhile all parties are bound by the original terms.

Depends when you bought KEFI but if it was after the last placing you should do well, sooner or later.

Also, if it were a panicked selling by an insider knowing that things were wrong, you'd see completely different action in the book and in O trades, not to mention bigger volume on the down side.

It's being deliberately suppressed, but I'm not entirely sure why. The most likely explanation is that if (as someone said) there's a Spreadex position on it, they're forcing it down to ensure their position. Whenever the bid creeps up, an ALGO trade keeps hitting it down, which isn't the action of a legitimate seller (you'd keep the position and reload, or tease it up). The current trading is consistent with (say) the shorting of some other low-volume SETS shares I've been in, such as the year-long short of QPP.

I don't want to be too mean about it, but I do wonder at their apparent naivety about the level of trust now, and how to improve it. Mafs' post is reasonable in terms of the risk/reward, but I've taken a significant risk twice now, with only negatives to show for it. If there's a further feckin' delay they will moan that there isn't any value given for TK, too!

Approaching closing, the book changed to 0.68 bid 0.70 ask, just -0.44% down, but then the 0.68 was hit and those large orders appeared on the ask flipping the book back to its earlier state (and making sure it wasn't likely to change).
If there's a spreadex CFD bet against a rise, that would make sense if someone is ensuring their bet.

The were suddenly some large (2.9m) sell orders ~ 0.68 and some big shuffling in the book just before the auction.

What's the position? Do you need a spreadex account to see current state?

" And conversely, that you're happy if everyone else is held to at least (just) those terms, so you don't *need* to care what's in their individual agreements. All that matters is in the umbrella agreement. That's what you have to live with.

The point of the umbrella agreement is to set and fix terms that any further individual agreements with partners must satisfy. They can't move the goal posts for the project as a whole, nor can they change their own terms incompatibly with the umbrella agreement, and they are committed by signing that agreement to complete any individual agreements that are required. That's what such agreements do. You don't sign an umbrella agreement unless you know that you can live with its terms when you come to your own individual agreement. That way each partner needs only to accept the umbrella agreement and then any subsidiary agreement peculiar to them. 2 agreements to scan. Otherwise, every partner would have to examine the individual agreements for every other partner, or equivalently there would be one big agreement that contains the text of all of those, and they'd all have to read and inwardly digest the whole thing. Hopeless.

possibly. I suppose the one I did a year ago looked a bit like that through the broker. After that I did it myself.
