The umbrella agreement I believe is a legal commitment, which is partly why it isn't signed piecemeal but only after complete agreement to the contents. I'm post ANS so I couldn't comment on what they signed or the get-outs in it.

Sometimes those are stop-losses triggering, and some (maybe most) of those don't guarantee a price but just add an order at prevailing price. Good way to sell more for less.

For the longest time, because they are defined as marking "algorithmic trading" I'd assumed it was always someone's trading bot. On Friday I was going to resurrect my L2Dealer system (it needs Windows) but looking through the documents, I noticed that when doing share trades, L2Dealer takes an unusual approach. You don't actually trade the shares. Instead, IG does a DMA purchase for you, owns the shares itself and gives you a CFD on them. Furthermore, one of the trading options is to do one of 4 kinds of algorithmic trades, so it's possible the ALGO trades might be produced by that or similar software when it's doing a buy/sell transaction (a bit less interesting than having an algorithmic professional trader).

yes, it was indeed looked at months ago. As I recall (will look it up later) it was a strange Chinese shell company and nothing much to do with the relevant TK area as such.

To while away the days until apparent Armageddon, perhaps a little light relief. The critics that periodically wake up here and start repeating the same stuff they said months ago seem fond of schoolboy nicknames, perhaps because they are. "Angostura Bitters", "Harry Enfield" etc. Same old, same old. Why not some new ones in this thread, for those critics, riffing off the critics nicknames for themselves? "Brainfart" for instance. Nothing too rude, though, keep it civilised.
