Hi guys. It looks like a quiet board here with well researched investors. I am thinking of opening a starter position here and had a look at the 2021 accounts. Do any of you know off the top of your head:
Why the operating loss was 18m CAD? (11m GBP equiv.).
What the 'gain on business combination' was which put them back into profit?
Both the loss and the gain seem large and I am interested to know whether they relate to specific deals or one off events?
Thanks.
Will AW surprise us with acquisition news as well this week. Would be the icing on the cake.
Seems to be a lot of takeover related position declarations. Is that normal on the Barclays RNS feed?
I am hearing there may be a fair bit of news on the way, end of week, start of next week.
Its a cliff drop out there in the wider market and MSMN has run up and then dipped a little. I wish I had got in around 8p for the chance to be this 'down as usual'.
Have to say, I think both BEN and CGO are undervalued. One is in a safe jurisdiction, one is not, so while they have one product in common, they are very different companies and the constant comparison does the market no favours. People should not be looking at these two companies as either / or, they should be looking at the current emerging trends and seeing that both offer an advantageous opportunity over stocks with Russian ties or stocks in less favourable sectors. DYOR.
AndItsGone - you're impressed by a paid de-ramper who is trying to scare you out of your position at a loss? Read Kallu's posts...every single one is negative and it ranges across whatever is happening. That is not a fellow investor with a sceptical outlook...that's someone either being paid to post negative speculation or else who has a short position on.
East Imperial goods look perfectly 'In Stock' to me on the US Amazon website. When the pandemic lock downs began, Amazon re-programmed their US site very quickly to reduce international shipping availability on non-essential items due to the politics and logistics surrounding that. I believe they yet to change it back.
Use a private browsing function and plug in a US postcode at the top of the screening and it will change stock availability to onshore availability for US shoppers.
As I said, I checked and they came up as In Stock.
It looks like there's some accumulation happening ahead of planned production at end of Q1. Surprised its quiet on this board.
Took a small tranche this morning, see some upside from here.
I don't think 40p is a new ceiling CH. Not really a chance of that happening. We had a seller in the last few days but as soon as any more news drops (first payment?), the share price will start ticking up again.
Haggis - If you look at the real bid, its moving up on low volume. Suggests MMs trying to fill a buy by enticing some sells. Mark may have a different view.
Bill - Give it time and let's see if the first payment gets an RNS...I think yesterday was a mad day on the market and it'll take a few days to calm down. I would think people will want resource stocks like BEN where a path to profit can be clearly seen, as they rotate out of things like covid stocks.
Hosai - Concerning for the Bitcoin holders ; ). Wee joke after a long day.
DropD, I was thinking this could hang around 40p for a while now, but actually I am starting to think the same as you. There is so much carnage on the market at the moment, that people will be looking for a stock to invest in where they can see a clear trajectory to profit that is increasing in the short, mid and long term, with locked in management making up around 75-80% of the free float (that's in the prospectus, I triple checked that detail).
Haggis - the CLNs were issued to / by ACAM. Where you say we might see a dip as a result of dilution with more CLNs....There has been no dilution from CLNs so far. None of the convertible loan notes have been converted into ordinary shares...we know because there has been no RNS to state that the share capital has increased. To my knowledge, ACAM intend to rollover the CLNs so that they can accumulate the interest and then convert them when the share price is much higher.
So I don't know what dilution there could be in the next few weeks if the CLNs are not converted? There are a couple of million outstanding warrants but in terms of volume that's the same as two trading sessions and the market absorbed 900,000 last Thursday without any impact at all.
Penstock - I thought with the CLNs that the lender are retaining all the stock. I didn't hear anything in the interview to the contrary, did you? I think we would know by now if it was being sold through as there would be some large sells...so it does look like they are retaining the stock and accumulating more stock from the interest as a longer term accumulation.
Things have changed a lot since the last interview I heard with AW, where he was talking about a steady pace of scaling up, saying first shipment being start to mid Feb and second HWM would be most likely contracted by Q2 22.
There is now a planned shipment without the railway being complete and a purchase of a second HWM. What I am most interested in is the 'why' behind each of those things. It points to AW being pressed by Integrity and possibly a new party to hurry up with more coal and sooner..but I'd rather hear it all direct from AW.
The RNS news I'd anticipate within the next 2-3 weeks will be: first payment received (next week) + latest test results on second wall + operational update on wash plant and railway. Wild cards...1 or 2 more off take agreements (Integrity taking more + a new one), 1 more acquisition.
Coggy I just re-read my post. I don't know, is investing ever easy, but I don't know why I wrote that waffle below - reads like I'm trying to teach Markeurasia to suck eggs ; ) Apologies Mark!
Mark, if we do get to the next leg up and stay over 40p, it will more likely be because of the value of what's to come, combined with the fact people have been patiently holding through the 30s. So it might look easy, but its required investor patience and plenty of 10% down days as well as up days along the way.
