I reduced my holding in BG US and bought into this friday obviously delighted with today’s result and in for the longer term
Just wondering how people saw the next few months going ?

Put an order in for Pacific trust and sold half of US growth this evening.
Nervous of single stocks but i won’t access to UK airlines and value shares - anyone recommend a good fund to consider ?

Owls, no we have other funds but smt and BG US are the largest
Planning to cut back US funds by a lot. Just don’t see the tech stocks keep rising post vaccine along with the other concerns re inflation etc

Just looked at the chart for the first time today. Anyone know why it rose and fell ?

Oldsid, yes i have been in BG US fund since last nov. Up over £65k but after yesterday Down to @£42k with another drop likely today
I have a lot in this fund and will definitely reduce it to diversify. I fancied Pacific Horizon or the china growth fund ?
Hoping that Biden stimulus package was going to lift this before i reduced it but talk of stimulus seems to have been driving fears of inflation ?

OWls hands up. I panicked yes, i have a lot in the market and learning. Since last Oct made a lot with BG US fund and still showing a good profit even after a 4.72% drop tonight.
I had @ £25k profit with SMT and this has totally disappeared and then some.
I like SMT, the fact that it is more diverse than just American tech but today and the last few days have been disappointing.
I did buy back in so here’s hoping and will be less reactive more faith !

ok, learnt my lesson after panicking and selling at the bottom of 1125p
I spoke with my advisor (wife) and watching the price lift, we bought back in at around 1150p

So a loss for the day whatever happens but always wanted to stay in this fund, so hopefully won't repeat the panic selling.
Still worries at BG USA for the next few days.

yeah, don't worry, now that i have sold at a loss (1125p)....it is guaranteed to go up ! the law of the post office queue. good luck to you all and hope to be back in this stock soon

you might have bought mine....sorry, dropping out sold for a £9000 loss but live to fight another day. just too worried about this and further losses possible this afternoon with BG US. I will have a profit to carry over and will wait to buy in but will be shy of US tech stocks. Happy to buy SMT again, but will consider BG pacific or china. Is there any recommendation for funds to take advantage of any lift to the UK market is post vaccine eg IAG, easyJet ? Diageo......still prefer funds or trusts to single stocks - too much of a newbie.

the american smt futures (correct term ? ) seem down, will this pull smt down further this afternoon ?

it says with either volatility or size of sell order (it is over £100k) i tried several times. still holding the stock. I like smt but we have lost our profit of the last 3 months - over £20K plus a negative £9k off the original. Been here before but equally worried about loses coming up with BG US grown today and tomorrow. would like to have sold and have the cash to but back smt on the bounce

especially when you decide to pause and sell....and the platform won't take the order ??

have to admit, panic here, down £8k on smt with bad news i am sure today on BG US fund. Tried to sell full holding on HL but won't accept the sell order and provide quote. We would buy back in but this could go way lower ....help ?
