Times are tougher but they're doing well. I've topped up. The group reported a strong start to the year with system sales in the 16 weeks to April 20 ahead 21.3 percent to 105.3 million pounds. In the same 16 weeks, like-for-like sales in the 450 mature stores were up 13.3 percent. In response, Altium reiterated its 'buy' stance on the stock. Comparatives with 2007 are very tough -- particularly over the summer months -- but the current momentum is such that the broker is increasing its 2008 like-for-like sales growth assumption from 4 percent to 7 percent (all other years remain unchanged). This, said Altium, leads to a 3 percent pretax profit upgrade in 2008, around 2.5 percent in 2009, with potentially more to come later in the year.

Dana Petroleum Plc. said it has discovered oil at the West Rinnes structure in Block 210/24a in the UK Northern North Sea, and added Rinnes well found excellent quality sands throughout the Brent sequence. The structure is located only 5 km from the Dana-operated Hudson producing oil field and 2.5 km from Dana's Melville oil field. Dana-operated Rinnes well 210/24a-11 has been drilled to a total measured depth of 6,470 feet and encountered a full Brent reservoir sequence, the company said. Initial analysis indicates that the Rinnes oil is very similar in quality to that being produced by Dana at the nearby Hudson oil field, the company added.

Domino's Pizza UK & IRL Plc. said it expects its shares to be admitted to trading on the Official List of the London Stock Exchange on May 19. The pizza delivery company announced in February plans to move to the Main List from AIM, stating that following considerable growth in the past few years, the board felt Domino's Pizza was of a size more appropriate to the Official List.

This Stock was looking cheap during February after dropping as most Stocks did. The Company had done well but there was mention of tougher trading times ahead, which was the only question mark. The average sale being around £30. 00. Lesson learnt here, follow your gut feeling. Not sure how high it could go from here, but not going to chase the Dragon in this case, be interesting to see where it goes!

Facial Recognition adopted by the British police 18 Apr 2008 A database consisting of a huge amount of photographs has been constructed by the British police as means to prevent crimes. The database will be integrated with the surveillance cameras on the streets, and a system will perform facial recognition to identify individuals who may threaten the safety of the public. Currently, only three police departments built the database of photos. The databases from different departments could be inter-connected by the end of 2009 for the search of specific faces, or even physical features such as scars and tattoos. The Head of National Police Improvement Agency planned that police officers will be equipped with hand-held computers to transmit fingerprints on-site and download recordings from surveillance cameras for facial recognition by the year 2012. The adoption of such database is the first step of the entire project.

BG Group says to supply 3 mln tonnes a year LNG to Singapore for 20 years LONDON (Thomson Financial) - BG Group Plc. said Energy Market Authority (EMA) of Singapore has chosen the company to supply up to 3 million tonnes per annum (mtpa) of liquefied natural gas (LNG) to the Singaporean market for a period of up to 20 years.
