I guess if AMG are fully funded and can economically ship SAVs spodumene to Germany for processing then all will be fine. Just a blow to the Portuguese who hoped to have more of the value chain in country?

This project was always about promoting high environmental credentials aimed at the European market’s requirements. The Aurora project was the ideal consumer for SAV’s output but now that NV has gone into administration and GALp has abandoned Aurora, I’m wondering who is going to be the offtake partner. There have always been a few referred to but never to my knowledge identified.

I would be expecting SAV to quickly outline their plan B if they have one. Surely they must comment soon on the demise of Aurora?

Hi IB, confess I haven’t looked in recently as I got disillusioned and reduced my holding to almost zero. With no Aurora project, is there anything left of Portugal’s battery industry? What now for SAV? Export of unprocessed material to China? Is that something the government or locals will support?

A rare piece of good news from SAV today - I had pretty much lost interest I confess. Typically the pattern has been to rise to about 5p when optimism abounds. Could this time be different?

I read in the Telegraph this morning that the “canny lads” of Durham have found a local supply of lithium. “ Weardale Lithium said that, if approved by Durham County Council’s planning committee, its processing plant would be “one of the most advanced lithium extraction plants in Europe.” good luck with that journey lads!

Hopeless if you want decisions. They may not show support for lithium mining as it is perceived a s a hot potato and vote loser but neither will they take action to stop it and risk losing EU support. Luckily in SAV’s case we just want the government to leave us alone and allow us to continue operations towards a DFS. Can’t see that changing any time soon?

Do the Portuguese media award themselves prizes for pontification? Plenty of contenders trying to grab the moral high ground on lithium mining. This is just another self-publicist grandstanding on tittle tattle and Chinese whispers. Just ignore them and they will disappear in a puff of their own hot air!

SAV was in a decent position until a massive hit of uncertainty regarding the political upheaval associated with the criminal investigation into alleged corruption in lithium licensing. We are now treading water until the uncertainty is resolved and the newly elected government clarifies its position in regard to lithium mining and processing. Until then we are just filling the board with idle chatter and reminiscing about the good old bad old days.

This works for me: “The generally accepted cutoff date is January 7th. Why? Because by then, everyone has already broken their resolutions and is too busy Googling “how to get a refund on a gym membership” to care about your belated well-wishes.”

A promise to do something in the new year is a bit like a weak resolution and as long as it’s completed by next Xmas is still valid? Would be good to have another face to face if only to see how much we have aged since the bygone days of miss-spent optimism regarding Oman and Mozambique?
