Am thing really hard, what amounts, what my S/L policy is going to be, do I wait, do I move in, could I get it cheaper, will i leave it too late, one thing is for sure, the capatian is puka! http://www.proactiveinvestors.co.uk/companies/news/73465/egdon-resources-burton-on-the-wolds-exploration-well-is-underway-73465.html DYOR ATB PS: If/when I move in, wont post the same day but next day as I may want to take several shots at SP
The brokers have said and I'm of the same opinion re Egdon Resources, IMO this is one of the best bets around in the publicly quoted shale sector. IMO, this outfit is small enough to be of an interest to others wanting to move into fracking and big enough to take not. The captain of the ship is a salt of the earth kind of guy. The risk re drilling is shared, so less volatile if things do not go accoding to plan. There is more, read. I am watching trends and this sP is beging to build up readble trends. I found it really easy to ready the other frackers SP even when the clowns were abusing me when I was prediciting the sub one quid in the other fracker. This SP, the upside and the down side - IMO, the better of the two. Presntly I hold no postion in the SP but may may move in really big style tomorrow and take profits on spikes and keep some back for massive profits and be preapred for total loss in worse case scenarios. See what the experts say DYOR ATB http://www.proactiveinvestors.co.uk/companies/news/68913/uk-shale-deals-make-egdon-resources-a-takeover-target-says-vsa-capital-68913.html
I was waiting for lower prices to about 8/10 and felt it would get there but not below. May have missed the boat but doubt it. I like the captain and my buy is to be a quick in and out or hold longer term if stuck. But real plan from today is, in, out with a good profit and just leve the other shares for year for a big profit or total loss, IMO Of the 2 fracking outfits for some reason always like this one. GL
Getting interesting DYOR ATB
Hello Was the strength due to this?? https://www.pressandjournal.co.uk/fp/business/north-of-scotland/370007/rail-boost-at-last-for-firstgroup/ Where do you see the SP by end of year? Thanks DYOR ATB
Year ago about 14/16 yrs ago I made many investments and cant recall if this was one but i do recall researching/reading about it/etc. Been looking this up today and surprised re 5 year SP graph. Did they ever build that money saving energy saving auto box or am I thinking about another outfit? Thanks in advance DYOR ATB
What, with Saga?
Hello again WW I'm getting a bit confused as I do more research and possibly rushing as I need to go out. Alkane Energy and the other one is Autrial called Alkane Resources? I'm getting the two confused plus I read somewhere re oil production of 300000 barrels and not sure over what period. Does Alkane Energy produce oil in the UK or is that EDR or have I got this completely wrong? I have read about the captain of EDR/Mark and IMO a great bloke and I have like the way he manages risk when drilling- any views about the people at the top of Alk? If you can't answer, like I said, you have already helped me a lot. Thanks ATB
CONT As I said earlier, you response especially this one have been very educationally and for whatever reason they are something I chose to believe. What seems simple/clear is not always simple/clear to the other person EG Alk stake in EDR but you have assisted me with this and I again thank you for that. If you dont mind, IMO the Alk SP fall is to do with the general falls in all aIM stocks and more so oil/gas/drillers, yes? Re Alk SP - what is the expected news flow? How does Alk benefit from a harsh winter as I read they had already sold their capacity to the majors and if a warmer winter how would impact on Alk? The SP, where do you see big supprt levels and where do you personally see the SP in about 10/11 months and why. If you cant answer the above, not worries as you have been more than helpful already and I wish you ATB in your investments Best wishes :)
Good morning WW Many thanks for you response which I will respond to in the order of your post ans summary at the end of this. About the "down side of companies," no one will force me to post a positive if the negative factor is overriding IMO. About Alk's Stake in "EDR," the information you have provided about how Alk paid, the worse case scenario about the downside and the upside if EDR does really well. This is the kind of answers I have been looking, straight, honest, none biased and in plain English, many thanks for that. About the names you mention and "don't take the bait." Look at it like this. To me you appear to be a genuine and open poster and able to handle the negative opinions posted by others and that is what I do. Like me you too are a human being and I am safely guessing that there is only so much you can take. How would you feel if you was lied about, EG continuously called a "shorters," even after making your position clear many times, sworn at, accused of being , having other user names, being a member of the anti-fracking orgs/etce/tc/etc.?? . Forums on the whole, especially AIM ones have on the whole positive views and should there be negatives out there and then new news is printed in respected media and I dont mean fly by night blogs re the concerns, IMO these should be posted and shared with others and this in turn gives holders, potential holders, topper upppers the chance to see what else is going on rather than be pulled in with 99% of the positives. You will always get the very optimistic and pessimistic posts. Like you and me, we both appear to have the capacity to decide what is right for us. Even with brokers comments, I usually take them with a pinch of salt and if a company, any company has less then 5 brokers, I'd be even more cautious re their targets. Directors buys/sells and this relates to every and any company, IMO usually carry a massive amount of weight/influence if directors buy/sell in considerable amounts and their own money is used. About comments on forums, I always take them with a pich of salt where the posters are always very postive or negative and not give reasons for this. I quickly learn who is posting honestly and who is not I am no expert in any company but getting a better idea as every day goes by and my major interest are a media co, 2 supermarkets, 2 fracking outfits, one energy producing co that has an interest in fracking, and a company that deals with the older generation that came to the market a few months ago and some interest in a gas/eltric seller. I don't expect you to and you won't take sides but me having been honest and open as usal hopefully makes it clearer to you where I stand. Importantly, think back what you initially said to me and how I responded and hopefully you will note that I'm open, honest, and fair. CONT
Looking closely now the sp is down but needs to go down a bit more before I really start palning for quick kills. DYOR ATB
Been locking at the charts. Not as some media predicts ie a big fall, but what I can see is a gradul fall that in total may result in a big fall. Longer term, IMO, well it was a solid name and I still believe it has a massive customer bases and longer term may become a solid investments but finding its feet at the moment. DYOR ATB
Hi WB Many thanks for the very sensible, very informative and educational post IMO. You said and quote: ((((So, you might understand why some posters are frustrated at you highlighting the "20" as a massive risk (when it clearly is not) and brushing over the "80" when in actual fact this is what the company is ALL about now.)))) I never said re Alk that the 20%+ is a "massive risk," all I asked was, intially was what was the risk and got abuse. About "balance," for sure as 99% posts on any forums are psitive and I just like to see and read the other side. I've had abuse, threats and abuse from many clowns to stop me from posting news items something I am to address next week. Again, your post for sure is an assest to this SP and if you was to psot similar it would be an asset to any forum. Your SP opinion's I wont argue with those as up until recently I was hoping for something similar but with all these market corrects and oil/drillers problems I think you will agree that this has had an impact on this SP. I will ask you my orginal question that resulted in serious abuse from one poster: Alk and her stake in a fracking outfit, how would this impact on Alk if the fracking co was to go belly up and/or if the other co for whatever reason did really well over the next 12 months? Many thanks DYOR ATB
I have just posted my personal views on the other fracking outfits forum if you are interested. Having read and properly digested the article, I am indeed of the firm opinion that it agrees 100% with my outlook. Additionally this article IMO highlights this unexpected bridge that fracking outfits have to manage in the alreadly difficult environment. If and imo most likely so, EDR falls further I may by, but not for a quick kill, but much longer term ie many years but I do expect spikes but if the SP falls a lot lower from the price I decide to gamble, then the spikes will not help me for a very long time, if at all. DYOR GLM
Totally agree wiith the broker a rare event for me. It will fall again but as like most outfits that have some real business, a bid at lower level could come but those that bought higher will still lose out DYOR
RE76 There was no need for that rude post. All I have done is posted honestly. Most forums where posters have what they perceive a large interest in the stock will always posts postively - 99% posts on most posts are postive and people need the other side as well in my opeion. Read if you dare, from todays newspaer re frackign may go "bust" even before it takes off Quote - Effectively, the embryonic shale oil industry in the UK finds itself caught in the middle of a global price war for control of energy markets. Although Opec countries need prices to hold at around $100 per barrel long term, analysts increasingly suspect that they are prepared to tolerate lower levels in the short term to counteract rising production in the US and even force some North American wells to shut down. link http://www.telegraph.co.uk/finance/newsbysector/energy/oilandgas/11171270/UK-fracking-faces-bust-amid-Opec-oil-price-war.html ATB DYOR
Brill article point out the additional problems that fracking has encountered even before it takes off. Just good practice IMO. DYOR, reminds the posters just that, DYOR and be fully aware of people with interests in the stock and their posts may be biased. ATB DYOR
I thought like u did but saw no action so delayed. I though I'd buy and keep long term around 33 but now this price, may buy a few next week and punt into fracking via Alks Edr stake. Stll not a full blown risk like the fracking outfits, but I cant see too much upside, but as I type, think I will buy next week if spread remains quarter p. ATB DYOR DYOR
