We've also got the Trump Meisters "phenomenal "tax plans to be announced any time which may just include more snippets about his infra structure plans ...likewise it may say nowt ...either way the bigger picture still looks ok to me ...have a great weekend fellas

Are reporting that production at escondida is in the throws of halting and Cnbc are reporting that strike action will commence at 8am today or 11.00 GMT unless an intervention occurs in the meantime which seems unlikely ... have to say that article posted by Super Bob T (Great C/F that lad ) ) on iii makes u realise just how much this metal will be in demand in the decades to come ...a comforting thought ...we might even be £2 by then ...ffs ... just hope this court decision happens soon ...GLA

I've just had a look at the average copper price for January 2017 and it's mean is £5736 per ton throughout the month so translating that per pound is $2.60 or thereabouts ...which gets Atalaya off to a flyer .....given where it was last January notably at £4462 or just $2.02 per pound ...that's some rise in 12 months fellas

Good post fella ..that all sounds logical to me ... The fact Trafigura bought in at 270 old money and to this down the route they did after doing their due diligence makes me think they were sure that by doing what they did with the equity raise that they were on pretty safe ground so it will be interesting to see how it transpires .. not long now hopefully ... and thanks again Mr O ur report was so insightful ... fingers crossed

I don't think he's got any agenda Mr o myself I think he's just pointing out that the second part of the deferred consideration contract ...can't be triggered unless the copper price averages over $3.00 a pound ... TBH we just need an answer one way or another now as this has dragged on long enough and it has held back the shareprice for sure...can't see how we can lose myself but I said that against Iceland ...

Up to 161 now but in reality u can sell at 161 and have to pay 165 to buy so it should tick up again with any more buying pressure ... the potential strike at Esconida has come just at the right time for lifting the copper price which is still at 2.699 as I type so if we get the right result Monday ...we may be somewhere close at long last ...

I see the spread is still 149/152 despite some chunky sales and dummy trades still showing I can sell my entire holding for the same price I can get for 25000 at 150 so that's encouraging ...and having seen far more sales today ..based on the bid /offer prices available ...the stock has to be in high demand ..otherwise the price would have dropped a fair bit in times gone by ... clearly a few people think it's gonna take a fall before the Astor news ... if they're right a smart move ...if they aren't ... they may not get another chance at 150 for a little while if all the other factors come into play ...interesting times ..

I predicted yesterday to a mate that if we didn't get news til Friday the rise would continue as this had typical buy on rumour sell on news written all over it and whether I agree or not the thoughts expressed by onions re Astor would be similar to many others in that we all knew that this was the next thing on the agenda ...and u could almost guarantee that some people would sell on the back of a rise from 122-160 knowing this was due ... the fact is this was a production update and in most other production updates they tend to only skirt around the finances as whilst being completely relevant it's not the actual main player in a production update and is dealt with entirely separately in the financial statement as per normal practise with Atalaya For what it's worth ..which probably isn't a lot ..the section on the financial position for me doesn't suggest anything other than the working capital requirements pose no significant risk ATM as the bulk of it has been deferred to 2018 and as u rightly point out ..that part of it uve quoted seems pretty ok to me These things never go in a straight line do they and I wouldn't be surprised now to see this drift back a bit more and had I known what I know now maybe I should have traded some last night prior to the close but that's hindsight for u ... the reality is it's looking good here overall and we now know for sure if copper stays above 2.50 this will be a good place to be at long last and we all stand a chance of either making money or getting it back at some point ...onwards and upwards

Well pick the bones out of that boys !! But in the past I think a lot of people had become quite understandably very cynical and spent most of their time trying to find the negative bits or trying to interpret the carefully worded coded messages which said one thing and meant something different ... as that was usually the bloody case ... but how things have changed and how refreshing it is to read an update and see we are the high end of estimates and virtually all aspects are better than before with recoveries ,ore processed , and copper percentages all more than previously and better still future looking expectations are more optimistic and positive than first stated ... add on to that the exploration results are exciting reporting significant copper intercepts ...it's a far cry from where it used to be and whatever happens to either the share price or even the Astor scenario (which shouldn't be no big deal in the worst case scenario in that a contingent liability moves to an actual liability but so what ... we can pay for it can't we now ) no one can deny that the future does appear to look so much brighter ... happy days may we'll be on their way at long last ... have a great day fellas and GLA
