Britain needs an energy production revolution
The energy crisis is, above all, a catastrophe for consumers, who will shortly be forced to choose between shivering in the cold or paying almost three times as much for fuel as they did last winter.
It is abundantly clear that the new prime minister must unveil an emergency package: one possible option under consideration would be a massive, financial crisis-style, across the board VAT cut, though this would still need to be accompanied by targeted help for the poorest. VAT cuts would also help businesses, many of which face bankruptcy and not just in hospitality. After the winner is announced on September 5, Britain will require a detailed plan of action commensurate with the enormous scale of the programme, yet still compatible with a Conservative philosophy.
But the catastrophe of consumption has its roots in a tragedy of production. Energy is the lifeblood of any modern economy. Rather than demanding we use less of it, the Government should be pulling out all the stops to generate more. Given energy’s geopolitical and economic importance, nothing could be more urgent.
In the short term, that should mean encouraging every form of production, including carbon-based – ripping up the various rules that hamper the oil and gas sectors, giving the green light to fracking (astonishingly, the Lib Dems’ Ed Davey remains proud of his central role in killing this off) and, above all, recognising the damage that net zero commitments are wreaking on lives now, having shattered confidence in the long-term investments energy generation requires. The eco-warriors’ fervour has proved self-defeating: nothing will sink the transition to a green economy faster than a popular rebellion against sky-high energy prices...'

'Sir John Redwood, the one-time head of Margaret Thatcher’s Downing Street policy unit, is also expected to be included in the Treasury. He is understood to have helped Ms Truss to shape her thinking on economic issues in the leadership campaign and has said he would take a ministerial job if offered one.' Source DT 27-8-22
Yes Shareflyer looking forward to Tuesday 30th / Wednesday 31st. We should get an announcement regarding the 8 hour continuous flow re Thursday's RNS.
'The company added that it will introduce the stream from the A4 well shortly. Further, Angus said that it will make nominations for gas sales once it sees stable flow, uninterrupted by electronic trips, for an extended period of time - being not less than eight hours continuous flow.
It expects this will occur before the end of August.'
If the 8 hour continuous flow is achieved - which I am hopeful of - then the product becomes marketable to nominations. Judging by the SP rise last two days alone there is a lot of interest and buying pressure juxtaposed with a favourable macroeconomic backdrop. Wouldn't want to be out of this one. GLA DYOR
Truss pro tracking and would hand decisions to local communities.

This aspect of shortly introducing the A4 well excites me. 'Well B2 has alone been delivering at an equivalent rate of 5 million standard cubic feet per day, surpassing the Company's internal expectations, although we expect deliverability to normalise with time. The Company will introduce the stream from the A4 well shortly. ' GLA DYOR
