We have had more information and a longer conversation on pensions than the IAG share price over the last 6 months! During that time the price has shot up and i'm gutted as relying on a tip on the chat board I was shorting it down to 150... Where is it all going to end?

Hi, basically each and every one of you are correct and on the money so to speak. Any pension adviser will tell you, that you need a retirement pot of twenty times your final salary to be comfortable in retirement. Sadly unless your in a final salary scheme the chances of being anywhere near that are extremely remote and probably impossible to achieve for ninety percent of the population. I believe the average pension pot for people in this country is around £34,000 in total. It's so difficult trying to persuade youngsters in their twenties to contribute to a long term savings or pension plan. Salary sacrifice or tax efficient it may be, they just don't see whats ahead and want to have fun. When you do realise its probably to late!

Also annuities are often poor value for money and very expensive If you want built in guarantees such as how long the payments will continue at the original level if you die early. A 50% widows pension to be paid to your wife/partner particularly if there is a large age gap 6,8,12 years. Payments to increase by inflation or 3%,5% etc. All in all it's a minefield.

You get the impression that none of the political parties cares about peoples pensions and just pays lip service, because they want the votes of that sector of the population.

There is so much more I could go on about but I am such a poor typist my fingers can't cope.

Thanks, you're not wrong I think your advise is probably for the best I shall give it some serious thought.

On the share's side I really believe all the financial pointers and impressive positive news sentiment, will at some point translate into a further rise in price. You pays your money....

LESSON NOT LEARNED!

The last time I mentioned you on here I wished you well was respectful and said that I had drawn a line under our spat. however, I seem to have been premature as you have again called out my name with a derogatory comment. You clearly have not learnt any lessons in the short time you have been on this board. Not only are you a big mouth but you seem both feet into that big mouth up to your knees in attempts to justify, the rubbish you are spouting. as it stands, the share price has dropped five points, from 175 to 170. NOT 25 points, to 150. which you keep banging on about.

I never normally comment on my personal investments however to show the stupidity of your comment and what it means in reality I will just say this. A five point drop means my investment falls by £3500. A 25 point drop down to your Wisley suggested 150 would mean my investment falling by £17,500. Now even a thicko Like you can see the difference. So stick your comments where the Sun doesn’t shine and do one.

It would not seem IAG is in the same boat, forward guidance still very upbeat.

However it is bound to to have an effect.

So who knows what will happen. Hold on to your hat's fella.

Look your views may not be liked by some, but at least they are consistent, so good luck to you.

I don't often take against someone on here but when I do I give them both barrels. Once it's done you have got to move forward. Tam has made his point and there is nothing wrong with that, however his choice now as I see it, is to block you or ignore you.

Why bother blocking someone when you can see their name and not read what they write.

Investing in shares is not a team game and no-one can take the decision away from you unless you empower them.

I don't know where this share is going other than up in the long term, but barring a major catastrophe it won't be going down to £1.50.

As you say I have just replied with some further harsh words, " But those words will be the last". I can't be a stickler for good grammar and spelling it's never stuck! We are going to have to go a long way back to my school days, but maths was where I felt most comfortable, hasn't done me a lot of good with this share price though.

The last time I suggested the share was a buy, was on Friday 19th April @169.80 on the 14th May the price reached 188+. You probably can't work out it's a ten percent rise. So just to make the point I have not as you said, "suggested one should buy when the SP is still clearly dropping"

Are you a politician as distorting the truth seems to come easy to you.

New to the board you may be, but we have all seen people like you before, here today gone tomorrow. You're not invested, you're completely irrelevant and like your non position in IAG worthless. Best find another board where you have no shares and try convincing them how clever you are.

Correct I should have said,"you are a bit slow" because you are. You haven't commented on the fact that you are not a investor in IAG, have been on this board for five minutes and are now trying to justify telling us all it's going to drop to £1.50p.

We have all read the Q1 report as that was ten days ago, perhaps your a bit slow and need to catch up with events, my old china.

In 2007 the Basic Vauxhall Corsa cost £8,500. Today the cheapest Corsa is £19,600.

Maybe less people are flying business, but prepared to pay more to avoid, escape, the "hoi polloi"?

I'm not sure that I would place a great faith in the conclusions of "The New Economics Foundation" a charity!, with a bias towards a green agenda and certainly against air travel in general. They want a levy on frequent flyers, definitely not pro airlines anyway. A quick look at their web site and it doesn't take long to get the cut of their gib.

We all know business travel had not fully recovered last year so those figures are not really relevant. More importantly how is business travel improving this year and what is the difference in revenue generated in comparison to 2019. Remember there are lies damned lies and statistics. But hey when your trying to prove a point.

I've stopped reading news papers as they are far too depressing for sure, and of course all of them have a political drum to beat.

I'm sure you know you could subscribe to a digital copy of a newspaper and have it sent to your email address. Unfortunately the BBC is not what it was and I think its web site is pretty limited actually. There is a lot going on in Europe and the world which they never mention, just my view! From what I have gathered from you, you are probably better off with "The Anglers Times"
