Maddog If there's a connection here I'll be amazed. I think your spot on with the something fishy line. Red herring springs to mind!.. but if I'm wrong I'm more than willing to look like a sprat.. I just want something tangible to happen..
personally I believe the shorts made a concerted effort yesterday thinking that abdn were not going back into the ftse 100. probably thinking of their positions more today in light of how yesterday panned out. Interesting times ahead :))

Scottish investment firm Abrdn has snuck back into the FTSE 100 while oil and gas producer Harbour Energy has been booted off following a review of the UK’s top index. Confused I am!...
to me being invested here. I feel like that child in the back seat of a car screaming "ARE WE THERE YET"
looks like the shorts are having a go at another squeeze today... no further news this could drift lower esp. with ITV going Ex dividend in two days.. I'm wondering will ITV issue a RNS on that day... perhaps I'm hoping for to much...
why is that its the wholesale cost of gas that's causing prices to rise... yet my provider send me an email telling how wonderful they are generating 100% clean energy (Electricity) Nuclear and renewable. yet they increase they electricity tariff in line with company's that use gas to generate electricity.
We are being taken for Mugs. and the Government is allowing this!..
Is there anyone out there wondering as I do about this situation.. 1 year ago I was paying 9p a kilowatt now in Oct it will be 52p a kilowatt yet its the same renewable and Nuclear as it was 12 months ago..
do we hear anything about this on the news NO. these are the questions that need to be asked..
Ummmm been trying to log into my Halifax account for 2 hours now. keep getting a message saying we are aware of people being unable to log into they're online accounts... Now where's my local branch oh no its been closed down Great!....
I don't believe this will ever happen.. ring a bell Nick..
My point being for the greater good.. its not my fault that you can't see that.. time will tell. To be honest I'm amazed by poeple not understanding that this RNS is a solid building block for GGPs future.
Sometimes in life you have to take a step backwards to move forward...
@Nick2151 In the rear view window of life everything is much clearer. Just like your prediction that we would never take our 20% in Amapa.
On a brighter note @BournemouthTom if your predictions are correct, there'll be plenty stuck at homing watching TV, if they can afford the electricity lol
Rising interest rates are a gift to insurers such as Legal & General, which have vast books of annuities. Yet the potential for the FTSE 100 constituent to beat targets for capital generation and dividends is not reflected in an undemanding market rating. Why? Because of angst over the impact of any rise in corporate and sovereign debt defaults as economic prospects weaken.
However, even in the event of a credit stress scenario of the same ilk as the spike in defaults that occurred in 2001-02, which includes a “big letter” downgrade of 20 per cent of all assets, Legal & General’s Solvency II ratio would stand at 190 per cent, far above the regulatory minimum.
When I say 50% I meant to say we went from £1 to £1.20 ish on the news breaking now at £1.10 ish...
Anyone think this bid might still happen. I guess the fact we've only fallen roughly 50% since the original article in the Times shows there's still a chance...
On a more positive note we could break 300p before the next divi..
I don't think it'll drift as much as last time as we've had some upgrades since the last divi payment.. and the company has put an slightly upbeat statement out..Dyor.. as nothing is garunteed in life. Besides taxes lol
Purely others selling now that they've bagged the Divi.. think if someone bought at 240 250 260 they might think I've bagged the divi. And this might be a good point to exit with further profit.. last divi the SP eventually dropped to 240 from roughly 278... IMHO I don't see that happening again. But It don't mean it won't....
EMH springs to mind... There's got to be news over there soon surely....
