Leo has made it quite clear that CERP cannot afford to develop its assets so it would be a slow trickle of oil profits any many years of no progress.
The alternative is have access to one of the biggest reserves in recent times and attract more investors with a huge potential upside if oil is found early next year.
It is a case of having access to a smaller share of a huge potential or a large share of Low profit assets.

Paul, the explanation if true would be that the finish product had a problem and retail units could not be released. They called for a problem solver which involved changes within the production line.

Not great to hear about a further delay on the DBX. I would have thought they should have been out the door already so maybe this fix was a fundamental problem stopping this from happening.
The other take away as mentioned was the visit was Obviously sanctioned by Mercedes. The more this move is shown to be encouraged by Mercedes the higher the likelihood of a takeover.

Well I can tell you that my 1% will be voting yes. Leo is obviously incredibly optimistic about the Bahamas find and he has the ability to make it happen.
In fact I am quite sure BPC would have paid him quite handsomely to work for then and leave CERP to it.
He has shown loyalty as well as wanting a return on all the work he has put in.

That was my purchase, no need for disclosure as far as I know.

Agreed Starchild, I think what people are missing is that it seems from what Leo has said that CERP is not viable on its own at this point.

The Bahamas find potentially could bring in over $500 billion in revenue on its own so I think the £2 billion could be very conservative.

I thought Leo made it clear that a high risk of Failure is on the cards in this climate. If you would rather that than take a risk on one of the biggest oil finds in recent times I would be surprised.
It seems obvious that future funding is very limited at the moment and both companies together hold more weight.
I would also suggest that some kind of deal is in place for funding if the merger happens so I don’t think it would be a good idea to try to fight the BOD and what they think would be the best option.

Slatsey, the brokers use a volume weighted strategy that becomes more effective the larger the deal they are working as well as a share with low liquidity such as AML.
For example sell 10@199 then 10@198 then 10@197 then 10@196 then 10@195 then buy 100@195.
Very basic example but hopefully you understand the principle, they could work with others to achieve the same thing also.

Chesh, I would say my exit plan very much relies on the merger. The drill that will happen at the beginning of 2021 will be pivotal.
I get the feeling that CERP cannot maximize what they have without this merger happening and from the interview he gave an indication I may even fail in this current climate.
The Bahamas find is Middle East kind of volume and many multiples of anything CERP currently has. The sky is the limit if that drill hits. Striking oil or gold at that point means the same thing. Huge increase in share price.
This will also allow the merged company to develop the CERP assets which will create more excitement.
All my opinion and still many hurdles ahead. If the drill is dry then we are up the you know what. However after seeing a lot of the data living in the Bahamas I am quite sure significant amounts are present.

Starchild this is my thinking also. The assets from CERP will give better funding opportunities and in this climate may be a requirement rather than an option.
This works for both sides hence why no h boards are behind it.

What are most peoples holdings average on here? Obviously you don’t have disclose but it is useful to compare so you can get a feel for the strength of holding as well as potential exit strategies.

Tecjed, what are the main things that give you confidence?

Mercedes don’t won’t to bring on a loss making entity in my opinion. They have allowed the AMG boss to come over, that alone speaks volumes.
I see once the turnaround is complete (early next year) Mercedes and their share holders will be happy to move on it even if they have pay a premium.
What is that premium? Who knows as the market would have jumped all over this by the time profits are released. £1.50-2 would be my guess.
